The "in/out" movement is normal and doesn't look excessive to me. It's there as the shaft has be able to change it's length as the suspension moves up and down.

I was of the impression that they were supposed to be sealed for life the gear boxes?
Yes, they supposedly are, but I would not be happy running the original fluid over 70k.

Nice one, mine has them and quickly coded them to fold using Carly.

Was tempted to go down the "top view" route, but a lot more hassle, front/rear PDC and rear camera will suffice!

Elec folding, one of the few options this one didn't have, but was on my "must have" list.

FS: Pair of E70 facelift door mirrors in Space Grey Metallic
Selling a pair of E70 facelift mirrors, complete with original glass. They are Space Grey, but the covers can easily be swapped for your own if a different colour. They work perfectly, and are in really good condition. Apologies for images, trust it to rain today! Looking for £200 for the pair, ...

Mine were shot when I got my car, that passed an MOT the day before :( Swapped them out in situ, without removing the arms from car, with Lemforder. BIG improvement. Might try MeyleHD "next" time.. Mike
You said you’d used MeyleHD and even linked me ...

Re: Steering wheel lock (for 2011 E70 X5)
I had a small size Disklok in my garage from when I had my Stag (before my E85) as paranoia set in when I got home in the E70, I dug it out of the garage - PERFECT fit, and peace of mind. Takes 10 secs to fit/remove once you've done it a couple of times and is supposed to be one of the more thief ...

Re: Reversing Camera Retrofit

Apparently that kit is an aftermarket camera, and they don’t do supply only. Re: Auto hold button - how does it work?
I tend to only use auto hold around town, reason being that the last thing I want after decelerating down a motorway slip road to a halt is the pads pressed against hot discs. It can lead to hot spots, deposits and warping.

Re: High mileage and the M57 engine - twin turbo
I would be changing the gearbox oil, and sump/filter.. Changed mine last week at 80k, and the old stuff was black (which I expected) but like water compared to the new. Don't forget it does a lot of work in there!

If you have active xenons, I believe there is a setting in the idrive for it. Not checked on mine though.
