2003 manual slipping - clutch or transfer box?
Cheers for the sanity check. Anyone know what the book time is to get it done? Best part of a day I’d imagine

2003 manual slipping - clutch or transfer box?
Ha yeah ok, good point! Are these the symptoms of a transfer box fail or 99% likely the clutch? Need to get it sorted before it fails but don’t want to do the clutch and find it’s not that!
There is judder if I don’t give it quite enough revs which makes me think it is the clutch

2003 manual slipping - clutch or transfer box?
Hi all, I have an odd sensation that’s been happening recently.
When accelerating on medium/hard throttle, there is a loudish drone at 2.5k rpm (sounds like it’s from the front).
Yesterday I when I accelerated from 2k (in 5th) I noticed the revs slide up the 2.5k. (Same drone noise)

I am yeah - very glad it wasn’t bad lacquer. I have a Das 6 v2 DA polisher. Very easy to use
Did a long drive in it this weekend. Found out:
- Bumpy on country lanes. Really bumpy.
- Vibration at about 60-65 upwards through the floor
- bounces forward and back when coming to a stop

3 more jobs completed:
- Interior swap mostly done (all the boot trim and door cards). Just a few bits of trim to do
- fixed the drivers door lock as the key was spinning. £7 Amazon fix
- fix the battery drain. Someone had wired in a DVD player and fm transmitter in behind the sat nav unit. Took it ...

Set myself the challenge of swapping the interiors of my X5s today. Started around 930, finished around 530.
Pulled the Dash out of both cars, installed a new blower in my green one, swapped the carpets, swapped the seats (mine now has heated front and rear seats). Got almost all of it done apart ...

I’ve seen that before with BMW.
Changed that and fitted the blanking plate (where someone had done the value end but bent the pipe up that half way along). Cleaned up the area which was covered in soot - hopefully that’s 1 problem sorted. Certainly seemed way more eager on the short drive today ...

Well the crank case vent was overdue a change. A 20k serviceable item apparently - doesn’t look like it’s been done any time recently.
FSR didn’t fix the heater. Next step is to check the control unit and feed to the blower

10k deposit! This first owner must have been keen. They spec’d it well though - love Oxford green.

Hi all, I’ve been on here for some time but never officially said Hi
I bought an e53 4.8iS off someone here around 2 years. I still have it but between the garage who were fixing it going bust, moving house and having our second child, it was put on hold.

I think 1b is exactly it! I’ll have a look in the morning.
Many thanks indeed. Where did you find the image?

Vacuum hose - where is it from?!
Found that a previous owner had half done a EGR delete which had involved bending the pipe to block it!
All done properly but in order to do this I had to remove the air pipe which goes down near it. When putting back together I found this - I’m sure it wasn’t there before. Any ideas where it goes ...
