Went back, tried the 27 again and it went straight on. Lol. Going back in on Tuesday for fitting and alignment and hopefully thats ...

Track rod assembly

Morning After waiting for an age to get lemforder track rod assembly's from Euro, I have ended up buying some Meyle ones instead The ones on the car are seized, so cant be adjusted, so having gone to the tyre place to get them put on and aligned, they are saying they dont have the socket needed for ...

Re: Wierd Vibration

okey dokey, so hunter alignment done. toe and camber out at the back by quite a bit, and toe out quite a bit at the front. They sorted the toe at the back, but camber bolts seized so thats still out. Toe at the front is worse as they could only do one side, so the adjustments they made have made it ...

Re: Wierd Vibration

Well, doesn’t appear to have a binding calliper. Had a couple of drives in it and all hubs feel fine to touch afterwards. No extra warmth from any of the wheels so I think that rules that out.

4 wheel hunter alignment on Tuesday. Let’s see if that throws anything up.

Re: Wierd Vibration

Think the diffs are both ok, just had them serviced so lets hope so anyway.

The alignment is the next obvious thing so thats next on the list. I'm hoping that might make it better. Will report back.

Great cars, just getting on a bit!

Re: Wierd Vibration

its an odd one. And it looks like it might be a process of elimination that could prove costly until we find out what it is... :( Wheels have been checked and balanced. I take your point about them being out of shape but they were refurbed recently and supposed to be ok. Darren Woods had them ...

Wierd Vibration

Hopeful for some extra insight. Continuing with the ongoing programme of improving/maintaining the car. Done quite a bit so far on the mechanicals, with the latest round being brake fluid, air con regals and an intermittent vibration from about 50mph upwards. Wheels have been balanced a few times ...

Re: Slight miss / judder at 30mph

No worries. Good cars, lots of little niggles. could it be a gearbox software issue? Mines going in Monday for front wheel bearings, new heater fan, a parking sensor and brake fluid. Also investigating some other shit. i sometimes think i should just get rid ( its a good one to be fair, just stuff ...

Re: Slight miss / judder at 30mph

Definitely worth getting it plugged in and seeing if there are any fault codes. could be the gearbox ( valves/solenoids etc) could potentially be the transfer box ( I had judder, when under part load) and a transfer box oil changed solved it. Gearbox oil level could be low. Could be a diff. Could be ...

Loyalty counts for nothing.

Insurers are happy to accept migration because of the sheer number of people who just suck it up.

E70 - The small niggles continue...

Afternoon all, Couple of (small) issues at the minute...looking for advice/opinion etc. 1/ Central vent's - A/c is on auto and there is a chirping noise coming from the two central air vents, but only when i brake or turn right. Not loud but obvious enough. Turn fan down manually to 3 bars or less ...

Re: Transfer Box Judder

I’m at 88k and like others, haven’t used incorrect tyres, I just think short local family journeys and uneven wear ( outer edge front, inner edge rear) on last set of bridgestones probably contributed. I took a view that with lockdown ongoing, I was going to get everything done that was needed or was ...

Re: Transfer Box Judder

I’d add, i don’t know if Its solved the problem or I’ve just kicked it down to road for a bit but the improvement is massive ( or was in my case) with the removal of all symptoms

it only costs about £100 to do so it’s a no brainer as a starting point.

Re: Transfer Box Judder

I changed the tyres first, which marginally improved the situation. Them changed the fluid and reset the adaptions and it seems to have solved the problem for me.

I decided to do the gearbox and diffs as well, as a additional preventative measure.
