Photo Request From 7 Seater Owner

Hi folks. While investigating a non functioning heated rear seat, I noticed part of a loom under the rear seat had worn through. I’m hoping from seat movements and not mice! Before I fix it, I’m trying to work out where the white clip should be positioned. You’d think it would clip into the hole show ...

Well I had the above wire exposed, stripped the cigarette lighter plug off an old cable ready to hardwire it, but thought I’d have another go at yesterdays effort first. Lo and behold it worked today! No idea why as I literally didn’t do anything different, but I’m not complaining. Got all the wires ...

I’ve now moved it and tapped off the cigar lighter feed when I replaced the Roadhawk 2 with a Nextbase 622GW (needs a bit more power). You can get to it by removing the trim above the pedals (4 screws) and you can see a screw that holds the transmission tunnel side trim at the forward end. Remove t ...

Yup, both are 20A. Just strange that the cigarette lighter was working. May be an issue with the hardwire cable, that’s the only thing I can think of.

Might just leave it in and get someone to properly hardwire it, but it’s niggling at me!

It’s a Nextbase 522 from memory.

Found the fuse box fairly easily yesterday and connected off the back of the 12v cigarette lighter fuse. However, when the ignition was turned on the dashcam stopped charging. And as soon as I turned the ignition off, it started charging again. It still shut down completely after a few minutes when ...

Towbar Wiring

Folks, has anyone fitted a towbar to an F15 and done the wiring yourself? If so, what wiring kit did you use? There seem to be a few kits which require the parking sensor button to be pressed to deactivate the rear sensors when towing, and I can only see 1 kit that deactivates the sensors ...

19” F15 Alloys and 255/50/19 Winter Tyres

I’m after a set of 19” F15 wheels (non staggered).

Also looking for a set of 4 (can be 2 matching pairs) of winter 255/50/18 tyres with at least 5mm of tread left.

Factory Fitted Deployable Towbar Retrofit

No, had forgotten about realoem actually. However, I’ve decided it’s just too much of a headache so am going to stick with the Westfalia idea instead. I don’t need the towbar until the camping season starts so I’ll try and keep an eye out for some sort of saving.

Cheers for the response though.

Factory Fitted Deployable Towbar Retrofit

Is anyone familiar with the various elements of a factory fitted electric swivel towbar? I’ve been looking at a Westfalia towbar and wiring kit which is circa £420, but keep getting drawn to the idea of retrofitting the factory swivel towbar instead. There is the crossbar with swivel ball itself. T ...

20” Style 491 Wheels

I’m looking for a set of 20” style 491 wheels to suit an F15.

Tyres or condition not overly important, just as long as there are no cracks, welds or buckles.

Retrofitting Electric Seats

Only car shopping at the minute, but very few G01’s have electric seats. I’m not bothered about the memory, it would be easier to fine adjust with electric movement than manual though. If it’s just a case of swapping the seats then it wouldn’t be deer at all. That’s why I’m keen to know if it’s as ea ...

Retrofitting Electric Seats

I imagine this will be a long shot, but would anyone know about retrofitting electric seats without memory function? If the car comes with manual seats but electric lumbar, are the plugs different on fully electric seats? I expect the pins will be different on the seats, but a lot of manufacturers ...
