Both Indy’s were unhappy about fitting the cast iron replacements as the castings can be a poor fit! All I’m wondering is, out of interest, does anyone know what a main dealer would charge for ...

Welcome! I'm currently loving my x5! I have had to change the exhaust manifold 2 weeks after buying but other than that it's been good. Also changed the gearbox oil for higher grade oil as mine has done 188k and not been done, but also had no signs of problems, just my piece of mind! Also am aware ...

I bought my facelift E53 at 175k and although it has full Sytner service history had never had the gearbox oil changed! I run it for about 6k with no problems or symptoms but had it changed then purely for piece of mind.
