Well, can't say I'm impressed that the BMW battery managed under 4 years.
Just discovered Halfords are doing a 950A 105Ah Yuasa for almost half the advertised retail price: 260 Vs 4 something. I'm going to try this one out.

Re: Halfords Vs BMW Battery
Thanks. Both the Halfords and the BMW batteries are AGM.
Sounds like it's worth trying the Halfords one.

Halfords Vs BMW Battery
Hi,
After 4y, my F25 battery is showing signs of death.
The BMW Battery is over £400 and the Halfords equivalent is about £120, which means I could buy one every year!
What's the difference, and does anyone have a recommendation?

Rear window anti trap
Any idea why one of the rear windows is reporting anti trap failure? Oddly, it has always been keyed off so used only a handful of times. Window still operates.

Re: Non Run Flat Tyres?
F25 with Pirelli RFTs 17" from memory and star marked Dunlops on inch smaller for winter - non runflat.
Handling and ride significantly better on the winters. I carry a Continental goo kit in the boot - make sure your goo is in date as it won't work otherwise.
Just put summers back on, dealer claims ...

Re: Another recall - or "Safety Enhancement" as BMW call it
Mine was done last year. Took about 2 days and read that fault more likely in Europe where isofix seats more likely to have unhinged fixings i.e. If an adult puts weight on the seat, the brackets can break off. Just ensure the seat base doesn't get damaged when taken out. Perhaps photograph it ...

Voice Control with Business Nav? (2014)
Evening,
I have a pre-facelift F25 2014 with business nav (no bluetooth media, just telephone):
Should it have voice command/control?
Thanks in advance.

FAT32 only supports 4GB files so you may hit a hard coded limit. Hi capacity cards should be formatted in exFAT.

Sorry, my bad - It was indeed formatted exFAT (default block size).
Transpires the original SANDisk 32Gb was borked. Didn't last very long and required ...

Dashcam SD Card Issues
Bought a 128GB MicoSD HC I - Presumably the same standard as the 32GB that came with "advanced car eye" but when I stick it in the camera, all I get is "insert SD card" and I can't see a way of formatting it or getting to the camera menu w/o inserting the orig. SD card.

Re: Concierge Disappeared
Having Googled, I suspect that what used to come up as 'Concierge' is actually 'BMW Assist' - Will test it out soon to confirm. If true, a shame BMW UK and the dealer couldn't figure that one out! If it has simply been renamed, then it has been there all long.

Re: 2.0d RPM (Auto)
I had a set of Whispbars on the Audi - Very quiet but I found the machine screws holding the feet to the bar could have been much more robustly designed. I broke mine whilst assembling them. From memory, there were cast aluminium joints that I would have made from steel.

Re: Concierge Disappeared
They moved head office to Farnborough fairly recently. I wonder where/when/if they moved the server farm and whether it was recently. They took over the old Nokia building, if my memory serves me well.

Re: Concierge Disappeared
Thanks. They'd do well to keep their dealers informed! Service centre today - after explaining what it was and that it was definitely still valid, they manually flashed the firmware in the car, to no avail.
