Sorry for a tyre post - just looking for a bit of advice....
Would 275/40/20 102W Diamaris Tyres be ok for the E53 or is the load index too low?? Can get a set for £300 for the front. Cant really find an answer to this
The rears are 315/35/20 106W

Coolant Leak
I have a 56 3.0d Le mans Blue that has got a small coolant leak (dripping down from pretty much where the front jacking point is/where the undertray joins the other metal tray).
I know I am going to have to drop the tray for a better look but before I do has anyone got any ideas where this could be ...

Re: Diesel E53, what are the no brainer things to do?
I have had mine about 6 months and what others above have said is pretty much what I have done or had done by an indy
oil change
air mass sensor (this was giving bad readings and black smoke)
new breather
air filter
glow plugs
and finally matching * rated tyres all round
mine is a low mileage too ...

Re: Can it be the tyres??
Next discussion now the issues have gone with the correct tyres....Run flats :P
How safe is it to keep them on? The tyre fitter did say the alloys were ok to take them and I have just checked they have EH2 marked on them (the rears anyway) so I presume theres no danger of a tyre 'slipping off' if ...

Re: Can it be the tyres??
Got the Pirellis fitted the rears were 5mm and the fronts closer to 6mm - before I put them on I measured the circumference of all 4 and there was a difference of about 8mm. I reckon from the factory the 315 35 20 will be approx 2300mm.....and the 275 40 20 approx 2305mm

Re: Can it be the tyres??
Just an update on the tyres...
I've been to a tyre shop today, loads of new and part worn tyres and hes going to fit me 4 pirelli pzero * marked runflats all with approx 5-5.5mm. DOT dates on them all are from 2015 too and no repairs so i am going to give them a try. Cost is £275 so worth a try ...

Re: Can it be the tyres??
Drove it with the fuse out and its like a different car, drives perfect, no whining, no grinding and fine over bumps in the road etc...
Would you recommend the next step be tyres and if not then get the transfer box looked at? Or the other way round?

Re: Can it be the tyres??
Thanks guys, I will try pulling out the fuse tomorrow - is this just a straight pull out - drive it - put it back in job? I can clear any codes with my scanner if needed.
I'll also get a set of * marked tyres on too
