Re: Foot operated tailgate operation X1 F48
The mental picture of you dancing a merry (or angry) dance behind your car made me chuckle. Thanks.

12v power sockets F48
Looking to connect a dash cam to the one under the glove box (have you found that one yet?)... http://i65.tinypic.com/207883n.png Whereas in my Porsche the 12v sockets switch off 20-30 minutes after ignition off, I can't find any info on whether the X1's sockets stay on permanently? With ignition ...

2016 X1 F48 mirror question
The manual says that if the door mirror switch is toward the driver's side the passenger mirror will tilt down when the car is put in reverse. It doesn't. In my three E46's this worked, and other BMWs. Why not in this 2016 X1? Is it part of another option such as folding mirrors? The manual doesn't ...

Re: New X1 - front parking sensors question...
[quote="Horizon"] On all the cars I've had with front and rear sensors, once you select reverse the system becomes active, once drive is selected the sensors will be active for a few more seconds to assist if manoeuvring in tight places. Once you drive off it is disabled, or everytime you pulled up ...

Re: Used X1 purchase
Compared to the new X1, the previous model seems less well regarded.

New X1 - front parking sensors question...
When we picked it up from BMW last week the salesperson said we had to press the "Park Assist" button to make the sensors work. I thought this was wrong, as I'd read this was only pressed when you wished to have the car parallel park itself in a suitable space. My wife doesn't think the front ...

Re: New X1 load compartment threshold strips?
Collected car today, and it has the strips!! I'm impressed with the drive and handling. My own car is a Cayman 981 but the X1 is quite a fun drive too, quite flat around the bends (sports seats are great) and a good turn of speed (keeping the revs down whilst running in). Yes, I can see we're going ...

New X1 load compartment threshold strips?
I've noticed a many of the video review cars have two metal strips just inside the rear hatch, as under... http://i67.tinypic.com/2hr0jk3.jpg There are many aftermarket threshold strips for sale, but these look like BMW parts? Anyone have an idea why they're on some cars, and where to buy? BTW, wife ...

One of my clients is a lead technician on the F-Pace project at JLR. I texted him while I was there about the broken handle. He was horrified! Can't feed back more directly than that.
