Many thanks for the replies folks. She has just asked me what else the nav unit does? She can still get the radio through the wheel controls so is happy with that. Obviously by not having the screen she has no nav, but what else would she not have access to? I'm assuming BT connectivity is dealt ...

I've just given her, her first introduction to X5 ownership costs...it needs new tyres all round. That made the smile straighten slightly!
