I've left it on charge for a couple of hours, and it's unlocking but intermittently lifting the tailgate.... looks like i'll have to take it to the dealership.
I've under a year old, so I am guessing it'll be covered by a warranty of sorts?

X6 (F16 2016) tailgate problem
Hi all, Went to open the boot today, it unlocks, but the motor doesn't lift up the tailgate. Manually I can lift it open it. It doesn't close when pressing the button on the tail gate, but I can close it manually and it auto locks. Any ideas? I don't particularly want to take this back to the dealer ...

Re: Battery needs charging?
Clamps with indicators show that the battery flashing with orange, so I guess that's ok... At least it's not red! I couldn't figure out where to connect the eyelets. The ground nut was pretty easy to find, though the connector under the red flap didn't have any nuts so unsure about that. http://i68 ...

Re: Battery needs charging?
Thanks for the responses. I've bought the clamps with the indicator now. I couldn't figure out where to connect the eyelets under the bonnet :/ Oh well... At the moment, am just using the standard clamps. Routed the cables, as other have done (saw I guy with an M3 route it through the top of his ...

Battery needs charging?
Hi all, X6 F16 (2016), delivered October. Got separate tracker and built in BMW advanced eye, and I think it's drawing a fair bit of power, as the BMW advanced eye told me today that the power was too low, and it was switching off. From reading the manual, it says I should charge from the starting ...

Agreed here, if they haven't wired it up properly, get them to sort it out. Don't let them try to fob you off with it.

Re: driving to belgium/europe.......advice
If driving on toll roads in France totes recommend a sanef libert-t tag. You attach it to your windscreen and it beeps as you go through the toll road - takes about 5 seconds. Charges directly to your bank account - no fuss what-so-ever. https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/subscription/operation ...

Re: Little irritations with my X6 - thinking of coding with Carly
Am planning to code it all up myself as well... Annoying issues so far: disable auto start/stop I bought a obd-to-rj45 cable off ebay, and the software was available on the internet. I was able to read all my vehicle details, but so far haven't actually written any back.... should be fairly simple ...

Re: Detailing a metallic white X6 F16
I think grabbing the anchor butter out and rubbing the car with it, the wife might give me funny looks :)) I'll have to look out for the Tardis product - tar is a bugger to move. You're right, that the conserver is a top up product, as I did have the GardX treatment before the car was delivered, but ...

Detailing a metallic white X6 F16
Hi all, Since I wanted to maintain the car, I thought I'd add a general post here of what I am doing. As the car is under 3 months old ( 66 plate ), I wanted to keep the paintwork as best as possible. From reading all posts from forum members, I thought I would add my own experience, and hopefully ...

Having same issue - I can grab a obd cable, but does anyone have a link to the ESYS software. Believe you need a token generator software for this too?

Re: Key cloned (potentially) - what can I do?
[quote="X5Sport"] The battery cutouts stop everything, including the Trackers, and add a risk of causing issues with the constantly disconnecting electronics. They are not a good idea on modern electronically controlled cars. And yes the keys all uses radio. There is a single standard for car keys ...

Re: Towing eye cover
Have not had that issue with my x6. Mine is a bugger to get off, but when I tried to put it back it, it did seem to be a little loose. But not as loose as yours, in where it came off. Maybe the plastic on the actual housing is a bit dented, so it doesn't quite fit on?

Re: Key cloned (potentially) - what can I do?
[quote="X5Sport"] Can't really add anything to what has already been said above. Calling BMW would be the first activity to see if every key can be de-programmed and new ones used. I suspect it actually means module changes though. Make sure you have a two-factor tracker - such as mentioned above ...
