Hi X5d have done a few miles today just checked the water and have had to top up about 1 ltr only topped up a few days ago have read about the steel seal but would that do any good ? only done 138K not overheating or any other problems cant see any water leaking from the expansion tank so will have ...

thanks for the reply horizon ill have to get under the front and check for water leaks how easy is the expansion tank to remove ? car runs perfect in all other ways no smoke no power loss just thought a head gasket would be a fair bet but these engines are pretty bullet proof i will keep you ...

Hi Folks not been here for a while as car has been good but now the bad news i had a low coolant warning the other day so topped it up and has been fine just checked again and it is low car isnt over heating but there is a little mayo on the oil filler cap its done 138K could this be the head gasket ...

Hi Folks looking at changing out normal rear lamps to LED type but cant find a list of types i need for the rear IE stop , indicator reverse etc

Hi Guys sorry for the late reply well low and behold got home with tester and torch to bell out the fuses but thought i would give it a whirl to see if started and it did pre heating came up on the dash went off and it started no problem i stopped and started it about 15 times and started every time ...

Hi There
same happened to me could be the Heater FSU final stage unit driver side behind stereo bit fiddly looks like a hedge hog fitted a new one and all was well

battery is only 5 mths old bosch silver type not a cheap one either
so don't know where to look first
did put a booster on car and still nothing which is odd as booster should definatley had enough juice to start car sip booster
any more ideas are much appreciated

i will get the tester on it tonight to see what its holding but on the dash this morning was reading 11.8V all electrics worked fin radio lights heated seats the lot
so a bit confused what could cause this
