Re: Vehicle Road tax standing order

I thought the new rules came into force a while back? Once you sell your car you are no longer responsible for the Tax plus you can't transfer the tax to the new owner?

Personally I would've cancel the standing order/direct order anyway.

Re: M Sport 30d (LCI) mapping views

Mine (on a E53) was done at 90K+, however I didn't know my gearbox was on its last legs and needed a refurb. However it was gonna lunch itself anyway, the extra power didn't help. Like X5Sport said, these guys are in the business of wrecking their customers cars, sort of bad news. I haven't used ...

Re: Rear heated screen only half working

No mate, a small gap will cut off the current flow to that part of the screen. It's common to have one line of the heater fail if damaged. If you have lost around half a screen have a good look at the element on the outer edges

Re: M Sport 30d (LCI) mapping views

You have one of those new fangled X5's, but I chipped my old girl with a local garage and the difference is like chalk n cheese. Give her the loud pedal and she doesn't half go off on a gallop! There is a guy on here called Jason that offers a chipping service and I guess he would be the best person ...

Re: Xenons

The only bit of hassle you'll have is drilling a hole (24mm I think it was) into the back of the headlight unit. Once that's done it's all plug n play mate.

Re: Xenons

Just for info, my 55w HIDS only lasted just over a year before the units burnt out. Bought them from HIDS Direct,  I have replaced them with a set of 35w (from HIDS direct), slight dip in brilliance but still miles better than standard

There ain't enough bleach in the world to un-see that. I love modified cars but that's just wrong

Re: Tyre advice - do I need to replace?

Mine is an E53 but what your Tyre guy said is horse ****. You can get BMW* rated in non RFT, cos I have em (Bridgstones too). But if you haven't got a spare tyre onboard you'll need your head seeing too.

Think my last set was knocking on for £700 so the cost savings isn't massive

Re: stop/start battery on non stop/start car?

If memory serves the stop/start batteries tend to have a larger capacity than standard one's so you should be good to go.

Re: LED Headlights.. Wow!
HB3 fitment. This is what i fitted just to try really to see what the light was like. I was very surprised at the light output from them and have left them fitted. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MRK4O02/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We're they easy ...

Re: LED Headlights.. Wow!

Daft question I know... Which ones fit the main beam? I have HIDS and sometimes they don't always fire properly, normally have to have the engine running for a few secs before turning the lights on. Think the dipped beams were H7 but not 100% on that either!!

Re: Front Passenger Wiper (E53 X5 Bosch Super Plus)

Hence the reason I changed to the Bosch Aeroflex. Tried different brands and had your issue plus the offside wiper always seemed not to clear the screen correctly. Even changed the wiper arm and didn't fix this.

Re: zf6hp26 shifting 2-1

Sounds like your clutch packs "may" be wearing, When the gearbox oil is cold it has a higher viscosity. On the other hand has your car been near a gearbox specialist or dealers to make sure that the box has the latest software as apparently a while back BMW released a patch to sort out the lurch ...
