Re: Saying goodbye to the X5 tomorrow

Thought i'd post a few photos, loving the car a lot and I'm still running it in!

Its docile and comfortable one minute but if you poke the bear then it turns into a complete animal, epic turn of speed!

Re: Saying goodbye to the X5 tomorrow

Only picked it up yesterday, needs to be run in but even without exceeding the revs set for running in its fast!

Very well made, interior is lovely and it sounds awesome!

Agree with AW8, apart from the M5 the 530i is certainly the one to go for.

Re: Saying goodbye to the X5 tomorrow

Thanks yes, the X5 has done me well to be honest, certainly brought me over to the BMW brand.

Car is registered and ready to collect within the hour...very excited now!

Saying goodbye to the X5 tomorrow

Had a relatively trouble free 5/6 months with the X5, helped a bought a low mileage example (well, 72k if that's low) and well looked after. Decided it just wasn't really for me and always felt a bit too heavy.

Picking up another BMW tomorrow, a new M5 so super excited about that!

I have a few ...

Re: Anybody changed Brakes (pads and discs) recently?

I've recently bought front and rear discs and pads for just shy of £400, which I thought was quite reasonable.  Pagid items from ECP.

Fitting them soon - although the car will be sold shortly so wondering if to bother or not as the current brakes are still all ok.

Re: wobble on braking , only at 50 ish

How are you getting on with this?

I have some wobble in the wheel under braking also and decided that given the mileage (70k) that it should probably be done, took advantage of the ECP weekend discount and bought lower control arms for both sides. Just deciding whether to do them myself or take ...

Re: It's a minefield.

I've just replaced all four of mine for the Kumho Ecsta and I paid £84 each from Camskill, had them fitted when the wheels were refurbed. They feel ok to me for a mid range tyre, and I'm very fussy with my tyres on my other cars!

Certainly wouldn't pay £250 a corner for tyres on a car of this type ...

Re: Dynavin opinions please esp. if you've got / had one

Like you I had screen pixel issues with my factory nav screen, weighed up the idea of replacing the screen and then within a few days my DVD drive packed up and the navigation stopped working. Couple with the fact the Bluetooth was rubbish and the whole interface just feels very dated now I decided ...

Re: Changing Headunit

The headunit displays the clock all the time, so I don't have it in the binnacle anyway.
