4 x 4 dash light
So after needing a recon turbo, I've recently had a sticking caliper. So today new caliper, track rod end and drop link, as all needed doing. Picked the car up and on left hand corners I can hear the abs kicking in and the 4 x 4 symbol on the dash. Then the 4 x 4 light is on permanantely. Turned car ...

New Turbo
Hoping someone can wave a magic wand!!! I need a new Turbo and have been quoted £2309 all in. The recommendation is that I don't use a recon unit?? Does anyone have any advice where best to source a unit and or a reputable Indy in west kids that I could approach?? I'm really not keen on spending ...

Re: E83 3.0d auto ###Sounds like a police siren###
Yes, more like a whistling than metallic. Come to think of it, performance doesn't seem affected either.
I'm hoping it's just a loose hose or seal?? Sounds less expensive???!!!

E83 3.0d auto ###Sounds like a police siren###
I've been on holiday for 10 days, picked up the car from the airport, no issues. Drive to work today and the car sounds like a siren is going off. Basically, this police siren type noise happens in neutral or in drive, when the accelerator is pressed and then gets more high pitched as the revs ...

Re: Halogen to Xenon
Mmmm, on second look, they do look suspiciously not like x3 units. I'm hoping it's the camera angle (praying). They must be worth more than £30 so worst case scenario I'll sell them on.

Halogen to Xenon
I have halogen lights in my 2005 x3 at the moment but some used xenon lights with angel eyes can up on eBay today. The lady selling them said they'd been in her garage since her car was written off and wanted rid. I offered £30 and she accepted!!! I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can retrofit ...

Re: Temperature Guage

Change your thermostats
+1, I've just done my thermostat, and it went from 67 degrees to 88/90 degrees. It's a fiddly job but DIY able, the worse bit is trying not to drop any bolts into the engine bay. I also did my glowplugs and glowplug controller, again ...

Temperature Guage
Whilst covering 300 miles yesterday, I notice that my temperature guage never reached the midway point on the guage. I know that this indicates something is wrong but I'm not sure what? In cold weather, I have noticed the car harder to start when cold-could this be related? Just thought I'd see if ...

Re: Kidney Grills
Much prefer the black but then I am biased
I plastikoted mine black, so if I didn't like them could easily go back. Absolutely love the halos also, I opened up my z4 lights to fit halos but haven't got round to it on the x3 yet. Iirc, the x3 lights are easily opened by putting them in the oven??
