Re: Considering an X3
Yea, just didn't seem right. It also had a grey interior which would always be difficult to keep clean. It's little things like the trim surrounding the electric windows controls was very worn. Just not great. I didn't really test drive the newer one as a comparison. There still a possibility I ...

Re: Considering an X3
OK, so took the test drive today. To be honest, I wasn't sold on it. However I'm sure that could be just as much to do with that model. It was the 2.0d Sport. I think I'm going to try and test a 3.0 SE. This one was OK. But to be honest, for just 55K, it seem pretty tired inside. Looked very worn. I ...

Re: Considering an X3
Thanks for that jagr. When you say the BMW Bluetooth works fine with your iPhone 6, is that just for calls, or can you play audio as well?

Re: Considering an X3
What the connectivity like? I'd like to connect in an iPhone. What options are there for this. I don't suppose there's any aftermarket CarPlay head units that fit as the only ones I've seen need a double din. Assuming most have Bluetooth?

Re: Considering an X3
Thanks for the tips. Will see what the ride is like tomorrow. Will be interesting, I'm certainly wanting to try a few variations out. I'm not in any immediate rush, so I'm in no hurry to part with my cash until I've found the right motor.

Re: Considering an X3
Thanks for the input everyone. Much appreciated. Always good to go prepared with a list of what to look out for. Pinewood - I'd love to hold out for the F25 but they are unfortunately a stretch too far for my budget. Bubbaspaarx - i've seen the rear springs going around the 50-70k mark as being ...

Re: Considering an X3
That's super! Thanks. I've done a fair amount of servicing of my current car, so if it's not to difficult and I can find guides then the swirl flaps and thermostats should be do-able. I've seen the transfer case oil change recommended a lot so I'll add that to the budget. I'd ideally like to keep by ...

Re: Considering an X3
Thanks for the reply jagr, that's reassuring. Engine wise, I'm not sure. Probably the 2.0d. Isn't the tax a lot more on the 3.0? Size wise that's good. It will mainly be used by myself for daily work travel, but is nice to know the family will benefit when I let them in it! :) I had read about the ...

Considering an X3
Hi all, I'm looking at purchasing a new (to me) car soon, and I've been considering the X3. I've always admired the X3, but have never owned a BMW so have no experience with them. I'm looking at a daily commute of about 40 miles (20 each way) of mostly slow moving >:D motorway. I'm going to have a ...
