Thanks all i am guessing the 54 module is the amp it dose keep coming on from time to time then the sound go's after 30-50 seconds I am guessing the amp I will ring carphonics

I have a 4.6is 2003 and the sound is not working on the cd or radio it comes on when I start the car for 30second to a couple of mins.
then it stops I have checked all the fuses and cleaned the connections on the amp and its the same any ideas or am i looking at a new amp?

can anyone tell me how I can identify the tow ball that would have been fitted to my X5 4.6is 2003 Its all there wiring and the brackets are there from new but the ball is gone is it the same as the newer models?

Thanks Lads I can't get cover its too old so I have to go it alone, I will prob do all the oils and bushes. the engine is not 100% running ok with misfire could be a valve I knew this when I got it as it runs on lpg so if I have the heads redone I will do chain and tenshioner. I am new on here been running a 525d just getting X5 4.6is 2003 with 70k on it I want to start right what should I be looking for to check first and would a full oil and filters be a good idea?

any other stuff I should do gearbox oil etc any advice please
