Re: Anyone tried 235x65/17 on an E83?
Thanks for the reply. I will give it a try, If I leave the new tyres on the E53 rims it won't be too difficult to swap them over and check the clearance, particularly with steering. I think the bore size will be the same, 72.6 mm. I'll likely swap the rubber to my rims ultimately as i prefer the ...

Anyone tried 235x65/17 on an E83?
A set of new 235x65/17 have fallen into my lap. From an E53. Online calculators show obvious speedo discrepancy and diameter increase but I'm curious to see if anyone has tried. Visually there is a big margin of clearance with wheel arches with the existing 225x55/17's but that will reduce ...

Re: 20d/30d/30sd fuel consumption
I get 28 mpg around town and 40 on the open road, give or take a tad with my 2009 3.0D. Hope that helps. (Imperial mpg by the way) We've been metric here in Australia for years, so I had to do a quick conversion. Approx 10 & 6.5 -7 litres per 100 kms

Try disconnecting the MAF.

Re: X3 3.0 Backfiring and missfiring
Unplug the MAF if you haven't tried that already. Will run with default settings, rather than possible corrupted settings from a dirty or faulty MAF. I just replaced mine to fix irregular idle and even occasional stalling. As soon as I disconnected the MAF it ran fine. Was tempted to leave it that ...

Re: X3 tyre problem
How did this end up? I haven't been to the forum for several months and was doing some catch-up reading. Would be worth doing the transfer case adaptation if you have access to the software.

Re: Sat nav
I went down this path about 8 months ago. Some initial teething problems and steering wheel buttons don't do all functions, but volume up down does. I did not use the bluetooth for phone calls option with the unit, because it is very average, plus the microphone is on the wrong side for right hand ...

Re: KNOCKING NOISE FROM GEARBOX? IN LOW GEAR WHEN SLOWING DOWN
If you haven't done so already, I would get the transfer case adaptions reset, especially if the noise is more obvious when turning. This can be done using DIS or INPA.

Yes, that's exactly the layout in my 2009 X3 too, rear end of centre console, push flap to open, reveals cigarette lighter and aux in socket.

What was the outcome with your non-starting engine, did you get it resolved?

Re: Bought another X5, couple of Qs!
I have never tried any Dynavin products, but the Android head units made by Eonon and Seicane do much more. There is also an adaptor now to interface the I-Bus so that you can do all the MID / OBC functions via the screen. Depending on what navigation or MID you have now and if you have a DSP ...

Re: Change OBC settings without OEM computer?
I re-located my MID to the rear hatch to maintain the ability to change the clock, webasto and reset consumption figures, but I rarely used it. I re-used the plug from the MID's original location, then colour and pin match the wiring at the rear using un-used plugs. I did not have CD stacker or ...

Re: Faulty 'mode' button on Stereo?
My mode button does as you suggested your X5 does. It cycles through the sources, I have an Aux input as a 3rd step of the cycle. No need to eject the CD, which will pickup playing from where it left off, when returning to the CD option. I'll do some research when I get some spare time.

Re: Gearbox Solenoid Replacement
If your gearbox is the ZF 6HP26 it might pay to read this post from xoutpost. Some harsh shifting issues can be fixed with a software update. If your software version is the latest already, going down the solenoid or valve body replace / repair is the likely fix.
