Re: FITTING OF AFTERMARKET STEREO ( XTRONS) 7" DISPLAY MODEL
The xtrons is (I think) a unit made by HuiFei / KGL 253, you need to bring the aerial from under the floor wit an extension. The signal is still rubbish, i ended up buying a fin style aerial and feeding it through the roof and looked OK

Re: Android stereo MCU file or backup
I fitted an Android stereo last month and all has been well, I've downloaded a few good apps such as spotify, tunein, kodi, Torque etc and all was going well. It now hangs on the logo when booting. I need a MCU file of 4.2.5 ideally for a BMW as it will have all the ...

Re: Audible announcement "attention"
Why?! I've mentioned in another thread how the Head unit display is U/S so we can't read any messages. Can anyone tell me what the audible "attention" we are hearing is with reference to? I do know when we collected the car we were low on fuel and the closer we got to empty, the more ...

Re: Head unit looks interesting
i have the xtrons but with android lolipop os. only just fitted it as a temp fix, i've got to install crossovers and tidy thw wiring. everything seems to work ok with the exception of the steering controls which i put down to ripping out the dsp and other bits. it cost me £165 but had a bashed gps ...

Re: How the heck do i remove the air vents / 2001 nav - casette - obc combined unit
Another question, I have an adaptor to plug into the radio module but with the lpg tank in the way, there does not seem any advantage of plugging this in as I'm going straight into the loudspeakers via crossovers, there is no power on the plug? The only thing I need is the aerial but even then, I ...

Next stage , I've got the stereo out in one piece, also removed the DSP, Bluetooth receiver, phone module etc.
There are two 12 pin connectors, one blue, the other white or black (12 pin) . Is there a diagram to say what the pins are?

Re: How the heck do i remove the air vents / 2001 nav - casette - obc combined unit
Ooops Try this, if you are still struggling To remove the 4:3 screen. To do this the vent above the NAV screen is first removed. There are two clips built into the bottom of the vent opening pressing down towards the top of the NAV unit. These are located 4 slots from the left and ...

I had something similar but it was a coolant leak that was the cause.

Re: How the heck do i remove the air vents / 2001 nav - casette - obc combined unit
Prize off the trim section around the screen there are 4 T10 torx drive screws, 2 Left & Right side towards the top and 2 bottom easier to get at with the screen open. Then the unit just slides out no need to touch the vents. Hope that helps
I think it's a different unit ...

How the heck do i remove the air vents / 2001 nav - casette - obc combined unit
I've got a 2001 4.4 sport - it was fully loaded with CD changer / nav / dsp and the head unit has casette, screen, obc etc on it. I want to change this as it doesn't always work and I've got a chinese replacement that will do everything and more. To remove the head unit there are two screws that ...

Re: Audio Upgrade
I'm ear enough to the OP but going to try the whole thing myself. Replace DSP, sat nav, mult-changer with an android head unit and some crossovers.
Only trouble I'm having is getting the old cassette / radio /screen / OBC / head unit out of the dash (it's a 8378942)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260898316042?rmvSB=true These dyes are great, i've used a cream one on our old figaro along with Gliptone Liquid Leather Conditioner which gives car a real leather smell. Don't be put off by the initial smell that smells nothing leather like at all but give it an overnight ...
