Unfortunately not. I was hoping it would be possible to tell from the design of the fitments but after spending some time on eBay etc looking at pics closed vs open roof bars I can’t tell the difference!

Hi I’ve just acquired a set of genuine BMW roof bars for my X5 but didn’t get the instruction booklet. I’ve had a go at fitting them but there’s a gap I’m not sure should be there. I'm also deliberating this at the moment and have been put off by reliability worries on both. Also been thinking about the Q7 / Touareg but keep coming back to the X5.
