Re: Rear Drive shafts
Sounds feasible..the first owner towed a horsebox. Maybe a couple of horses in a big horsebox is heavier than the caravan we tow. Thanks for that.

Rear Drive shafts
Hello. I am having a rear drive shaft changed on my 2007 X5. The one that was taken off, I'm told is a bit longer than the one delivered (810mm compared to 840mm). Does anybody know why there is a difference? Could it be to do with the fact it has a factoryfit towbar for some reason, various parts ...

Recall - Alternator Screw
I've just had a recall notice about a threaded bolt on the alternator, which if it breaks, can affect the power steering. Has anybody else had this?
Thanks

Power Window Reset
When I wind the passenger side, front door window up, it hits the top of its travel, the anti-trap function kicks in and it comes back down about 3 inches. The only way to close the window is to wind it up bit by bit. Does anybody know how to reset the anti trap function? Thanks

Headlamp washer jets
One of my headlamp washer jets wont retract. How much of a job are they to remove and either repair or replace? Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks

Re: Wingmirror glass fell off
I had exactly the same thing happen over Christmas, on the same side. Flapped a bit and then fell off. A new one was only a few pounds on Ebay.

Window goes back down
Hello, if I lower the passenger side front window then raise it up again, it gets to the top then comes back down again about 10cm on its own, as if it has activated the safety switch if somebody was stuck in the gap. How can I stop that from happening? I have to raise it bit by bit till almost ...

How did you get on?
Surely it isn't worth very much as a non-runner, better to get it fixed?

Re: Cutting out occasionally
Well this problem ended up as a complete failure, found a possible cause googling whilst sat at the side of the road, and turned out to be correct. Found several references to the same issues on American sites. It turns out the if the scuttle cover behind the engine isn't seating properly, or ...

Cutting out occasionally
I suspect this may be a fault already mentioned on here somewhere but here goes. I don't use my 2007 3.0D very often at the moment as working away. I just drove down the road to fill up ans as I pulled up, it cut out. When I tried starting it, it kept turning over even with my finger off the button ...
