Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Hi Rickyclean (and any others who come by here interested to know...) Finally changed these pesky parking bulbs again. 2nd time was much quicker by the way :)) Went with superior LUX branded version bulbs; E90 v6; https://www.luxangeleyes.com/products/lux-e90-v6 They fit perfectly and shine daylight ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Hey Ricky. The HID is basically a replacement of the low beam bulb, although you need to accommodate the ballast wiring harness. An easier option to consider is LED headlight bulb replacement, as there are many of these now available and can be a very close to matching the intensity of HID. Bonus is ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
The engineer in me thinks this design is just wrong on so many levels.
No, every damn level... :)) I suspect this is why this particular headlight assembly for the X5 was short lived. This dilemma of "changing the damn light-bulb" was another reason why I put it off for ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Hi Ricky. Finally found some time to get on to this. Your above step instructions were invaluable, although I did need the plastic rivets for my wide wheel arches. I only had the morning so got one side done yesterday. Also did the HID low beam upgrade while in there. 1000% improvement over the ...

Re: Hi All - My First X (E70 xDrive30d) - Thoughts Please :)
Just do it, you'll love it. It sounds well spec'd too and sounds like you already own it
PS. We have a seven seat and find it very useful for those extras when needed, which seems often now ::)
But you wouldn't really want to long trip (1+hrs) in them though.

Re: 2008 ish purchase question
We bought a 2008 30d sport pack. 30d goes fine standard also, but even better with a bluefin tune installed (ps better than a stock 35d too) :) We did not want to limit our choices to looking at twin turbos only. Was looking at overall condition of the vehicle of choice. Although if choice permitted ...

Re: EGR blanking or closing via ecu programming pro's n con's
Hi there. (I know this is an old thread). Want to know if anyone on here has successfully completed the EGR delete/block/blanking and the ecu off coding for their e70 diesel. I see a few kits on ebay now for this. The e70 would also require the coding out to avoid any ecu error faults or even limp ...

Re: Battery recommendation for 3.0sd 7 seater?
I did a self battery replacement recently --- I have 2008 7seat 30d. Having similar signs of the battery not cutting it anymore (i.e. losing date/time, low battery charge warning when using the with doors open but not running, short trips etc). Had been using a battery charger-conditioner (Ctek mxs5 ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Thanks RC that was an epic write up. Much appreciated. I will circle out a Sunday morning in my calendar soon and get cracking. Will report back then. I am guessing, but you seem to have avoided the need for a plastic rivet and tool for re-fixing the wheel arch panels. I am not sure if I have that ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Hi Rickyclean. That looks awesome mate. Job well done. Looking forward to seeing how you finally did it. And yes I have already resided myself to the time consuming task at hand. PS. I plan to upgrade the H7 low headlight bulbs with a 35w 6000k HID kit while I am up in there too anyway ...

Re: Reverse light upgrade, what bulbs?
Rear upgraded LED bulbs in place. I would say they are at least twice as bright than the standard bulbs. But I have no way to measure this. It is also difficult to capture an image of...but here it is... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p6F1HRS81El_rbaYmfqjQN3h5KUIs3KCHef0YBVfvfo9 ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
Hi again. I was able to find a partial step by step process for accessing this area behind the headlight from wheel arch, photos and all: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=804781 Above link was for a different purpose (replacing aim adjuster motor) but essentially getting to the same ...

Re: Reverse light upgrade, what bulbs?
Hi. I am in the process of updating light bulbs on my 2008 e70 also, to nice white led, everywhere possible. I too need better reverse/backup light, so I purchased these (image below) and will report with a photo on the improvement after fitting this coming weekend. PS. the OEM light bulb type is a ...

Re: Angel Eye Bulb replacement
You may have hit on the perfect solution for me so I going to investigate your idea further. In terms of access to the bulb, it is an insanely badly designed arrangement and quite an infuriating set up when bulbs do not last a lifetime. It was either a cynical way of extorting ...
