2012 Pro Nav Update?
2012 F25 uses USB nav updates. I did mine a couple of years ago. It took nearly an hour of driving around to fully load. :o You can't just leave it sitting with the ignition on because the car will power-down before the update completes. I should get the latest maps and do it again ...

Wandering Front End
Morning, I've noticed the X3 is wandering around at the front quite a bit lately. Had a look under and all the drop links etc are all righthand connected. The ARB looks fine, feels fine and no play. I did notice the radius rod could be moved by hand fairly easily. It's a 2012 with 103k miles so ...

Thanks folks for the official and unofficial recommendation. I'll let you guess what I went for.
Let's just say I have an M3 that wants that £200 more than the X3 lol

Re: 2012 Pro Nav Update?
This is a 2012 F25 X3, thought I posted on that specific board but was being nagged and rushed by the wife.
It definitely has a USB port in the glove box and in the centre under the arm rest.
This is what the menus say I have

2012 Pro Nav Update?
Hi guys,
Came unstuck numerous times on trip this week, turns out the nav hasn't been updated since 2013
How would go about getting the latest map and software?

Re: Passenger Restraint System Warning...
Chances are that it’s the tool and the App. Many cars need specific tools such as BMWs NCS Expert to work with all of the codes and commands. The tool you have is listed as ‘only works with certain cars’ without listing them of course :x If you unplug the seats with the car battery connected then yo ...

Passenger Restraint System Warning...
Hi all, Thanks to my messy wife, an object got stuck in the electric seat motor/gear. I had to unplug a few things under the seat to get my hand in to remove it. Now I have an annoying dash warning about the passenger restraint system and to ensure safety belt is fastened. I bought an OBD tool from ...

Re: Keyfob Battery Issues
Completely died yesterday.
This time I bought a new battery from BMW not Maplins. Error cleared and working fine.
Buy cheap, buy twice. Always. Never learn.

One in Sidcup quoted me £258 yesterday so you're not doing badly at £235
I was so thankful a(nother) new battery cured my problems!

Here's a diagram of all the cooling system parts.
Check each one!

You might get a better response if this was in the right X3 subforum btw, more people with this year might have had this issue in the E83 section

Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
BMW use Pagid and Textar as OEM suppliers, Available via Euro Car parts, sometimes they run weekend or brake discount codes, I got 35% of mine recently
Pretty much every Friday, Saturday and Sunday I get an email with at least 50% off parts. I might start hoarding them now ...

Keyfob Battery Issues
So a couple of weeks ago my keyfob stopped responding. I used the key to manually open the door then it started from the inside. It seemed to lock from the remote after I drove the car. I bought a couple of batteries from Maplin that very day (2-4-1) and changed it. It works faultlessly every time ...

I think it looks better inside (massively) and outside.
Having an X3M variant too is brilliant.

Re: Vehicle Inspection Vs Vehicle Check
I'd only want to reset it if it relates to the MOT. If it needs a service it needs a service.

Re: Vehicle Inspection Vs Vehicle Check
What, Inspection? Really?
MOT is up to date but a friends garage did it so if there was a computer reset needed they wouldn't have known.
