Re: Gear leaver won't move into manual mode
Sounds suspiciously like the joystick unit is on the way out, and it can only be replaced as a unit. BMW want obscene amount of money, but you may be able to find on line somewhat cheaper. Realoem will give you the right part number to look for - if it goes that far. [/quote ...

Gear leaver won't move into manual mode
Hi, not mine, but a friends. '08 3.0sd.
Was all working fine, now, in auto mode all ok, but the gear leaver will physically not move over to the left to select manual mode.
Near leaver? or worse?

Re: 'Parking brake failure' - Car (no longer) stranded. **updated**
No probs! glad you are on the move again. I do think it sounds like same symptoms of mine however, that noise......I still remember it now, it sounded expensive [emoji4]. The new actuator comes as a whole unit with cables all sealed within, silly design really but hey ho!! the most ...

Re: 'Parking brake failure' - Car stranded. HELP!
Thanks for the response. I fear you may be right. >:(
Right, so are the cables obvious? I need to make sure I'm cutting the right ones!

Re: 'Parking brake failure' - Car stranded. HELP!
Actually, stupid question.......
I located the manual release, which seems to be a cable that you pull. SO.... what is the red T shaped tool needed for?
Am I am being a complete numpty here and not doing it right? (this possibility exists!!!) :-[

'Parking brake failure' - Car (no longer) stranded. **updated**
Hi. Looks like my parking brake actuator is fubar'd, but my immediate issue is i can't get the parking brake released. I parked on a hill last night, and when I returned to the car and un-locked it, I had a real screeching noise come from the rear drivers side. (just like this thread: http ...

Re: Heated Seat not working
Could be a blown element if all of the lights come on. Seat rebuild job to replace it.

ooh that sounds cheap!

Heated Seat not working
Hi All, First post and it's an issue.... I have just picked up an '07 E70 and the drivers heated seat does not work. Push the button and all three lights come on, and then immediately go out. Passenger seat works fine. I am assuming that it could be a multitude of things: broken wire, fuse, element ...
