Re: X3 2005 20" alloy options
This actually looks pretty good on the X5 wheels.

The black anthracite headlining is the easy give away.

Mine is a Sport and has the anthracite headlining. Think the anthracite headlining was an option on the Sport and standard on the M Sport.

Re: Window tints rear
He did mine for £150 back in November but not sure if that was mates rates or not. All my mates use him and his work is first class.
If you google Diamond Tints Glasgow you'll find him
If you want to use him let me know and I'll give you more details.

Re: Transfer Case, Automatic and Diff Oil change
I was told the same with my old 1 series about the gearbox not needing done as it was "sealed for life", but after speaking to a couple of mechanics they said that best doing the box at the same time as the diff and the "sealed for life" is a lot of rubbish. After getting it done, the gearchange was ...

Limp Mode & Thermostats?
As mentioned in my previous topic, my X3 (2.0d manual) has been going better than ever over the last week after changing to a full set of new star rated tyres. However, on Friday morning I was going up a steep'ish hill and put my foot down for power and nothing. It wouldn't go past 2,500 RPM until I ...

Re: Transfer Case, Automatic and Diff Oil change
Do you know what oil/grade they used in your diff and transfer box?
Mine is a manual box so our gearboxes are different, but I assume the transfer box and diff will be the same throughout the E83's?
Also is the filter located on the diff?

Re: Transfer Case, Automatic and Diff Oil change
Was the original price of £300 including the oils?
Was considering getting my transmission oils done, but that seems a hefty price to change them. Got the gearbox and diff oil done on my old 1 series and it was only £50 to do and I provided the oil.

Re: Temp Grade Problem
Sounds like same issue mine has.
What would the symptoms be if it was the EGR stat that was knackered?

Re: Could it be the tyres? - Update 19/01/16
Fitted a brand new set of star rated Pirelli Scorpion STR on Saturday and they have totally transformed the car! The ride is almost silent, bumps don't feel as harsh and more importantly no knocking noises or jerkiness and smooth power delivery again. What a difference! Just need to sort my ...

Re: My X3 Sport
Thanks Sorry, I've no idea what was used to clean the engine bay. I took it to a mate of a mate who does valeting and detailing to give it a proper going over so I could keep on top of it once it was done properly.

My X3 Sport
Got my X3 2.0d Sport in late August to replace my 118d M Sport as it was getting too small for my needs, so thought it was about time I put up some pics of it. When I first got it, the paintwork wasn't the best and in need of a good correction and polishing and sealing, so after getting a few ...

Re: Could it be the tyres?
Guessing it'll be the main thermostat that'll be knackered and not the EGR stat? Or would it be both?

Re: Could it be the tyres?
Thanks. Yeah, have found that when driving the gauge doesn't get halfway but when sitting with engine running or in traffic it goes normal. Is changing the thermostat an easy job?
