I have an autosound DAB add on, used it in my X3 it's now in the Ford Kuga.
Cost about £120 virtually the same as the BMW OEM one.
The signal does drop out in certain areas depending on the station you are listening to.

Re: x3 2.0d glow plugs and other problems
The controller is real pain it's under the alternator, when I did mine I found it easier to remove the under tray and the lower wheel arch panel, then with a long extension you can get to it quite easily.
The hard part is getting the plugs off, however I still had issues after new glow plugs and ...

Re: X3 E83 WET REAR PASSENGER FOOTWELL CARPET
My wet rear carpets were due to a tiny hole in the glue like substance that holds the vapour barrier on the front drivers door.
The best thing to do is strip out the door cards and front seat then get some one to soak the outside with a hose whilst you sit in the car looking for the water coming.

Re: Please Help - PCV changed but Oil still in air intake going to Turbo
Could be the seals in the turbo going, if too much oil gets in the engine will run on that at full revs.
Best get it checked out.

They didn't have various options on my 2007 X3, but the newer ones may have.

Re: Air con problem
It's in the under bonnet fuse box, which is next to the N/S suspension strut tower.
Held on with about 5 torx screws, be careful not to drop them as they are difficult to retrieve.

Re: Rattling but still rolling!
Could also be the turbo, my 2.0D had a whistle no smoke and still pulled like it should.
Took the air intake pipe off the turbo the vanes were starting to break up.

No idea, i can only assume the bearings are shot as there is a rub mark inside the tube where the vanes spin

I think 'I've found the cause of the whistle, took the intake pipe off again today and found some of the tips are missing from the turbo vanes.

Re: X3 2.0d 2006 starting issues & slight flat spot at low revs
Replaced the rubber seal, still got a slight hesitation.
However I now have a whistle when I accelerate which I never noticed before, it's not there when stationary and revving the engine.
No smoke but plenty of power still.
It sounds like one of those whistling kettles.

Re: X3 2.0d 2006 starting issues & slight flat spot at low revs
Trying to diagnose my misfire at low speeds, I have found item No:7 in this diagram to be hard and worn.

Re: tuning the 2,0d
I've just had my 2007 LCI 2.0 d remapped along with a carbon clean.
I went for a mix of power and economy, this gave me an extra 40 bhp and 80 Nm of torque.
It is a much smoother drive with higher gears more usable at lower speeds.
Total cost was £329.00
My original power output was 150bhp

Tailgate bulb error possible fix
If you keep getting a bulb error for a bulb in the tailgate try lifting the centre contact in the bulb holder first.
I kept getting an intermittent fault and this is how I solved my issue.
The contact had been pushed down and was allowing the bulb to move up and down in the holder.

So the -18688 m is meters and not miles.
I thought it was miles that's why I was concerned.
Thanks for all your help
