Re: They stole my X5
Having a tracker for me is not really an option, as much as I love my car once it's stolen I wouldn't want it back, although this incident as made me think what better security options I can put into place to make it more difficult for them to steal in the first place

Re: They stole my X5
Like I said i know it's available on the e53 not sure about the e70. It's called extended immobiliser function where you can set a 4 digit passcode of your choice which must be punched in every time you want to start the car. It can be setup via the computer in MID* via the BC button I believe ...

Re: They stole my X5
I know on the e53 models you can setup on the console unit a code that needs inputting to start the engine, sure you must be able to do the same on the e70.

Re: They stole my X5
All the alarms and best security measures in the world won't stop them, if they are professionals and they want your car they will get it. Unfortunately they broke into my house why I was sleeping and stole my keys, good job for them they didn't wake me because I would now be sat in a prison cell ...

Re: 4x4 warning light
At Kwik Fit they use the Hunter Allignment system which checks all 4 corners for camber, toe and caster. The rear was spot on but the front was well out on the toe and slightly on camber, all perfectly inline now though

Re: 4x4 warning light
Thanks for the help I will try your advice in the morning. The rear tyres are continentals and have about 5-6mm of tread still (only replaced about 8 months ago)
The new tyres I put on are 255 50 R19's.

4x4 warning light
Hi all, I've taken my X into my Local Kwik Fit because My wheel alignment was out and I required 2 new tyres. So they fit 2 new pirelli's and get it on the machine and it shows the toe on the front to be out by a concidrable amount. They make adjustment and get it all aligned, job done and I'm happy ...
...Fuel filter? is that the one that sits on the driverside sill?
It's actually located underneath the passenger side and not the drivers side, there's abit of covering to remove before you can replace it. As X5Sport said check battery compartment for water, seems to be a ...

Parking light bulb
I received a message on my dash saying "check park light" so I did and noticed the F/O/S bulb had gone, no problem I thought to myself so I removed the small unit inside the headlight unit with houses the bulb and it says on it 12v 10w. So trundled off down to my local Halfords for a replacement ...

Dynavin or alternative
Ok so I'm looking to install a satnav/Bluetooth entertainment system in my 04 e53, and from what I've read the Dynavin seems to be a popular choice. My x5 currently just as the dash CD player. I would just like a little guidance to to which unit(s) are the best for the e53 and how simple they are to ...

Immobiliser code
Hi, can anyone give me any advice on the additional immobiliser code that can be setup and used from the control panel. (Where the code must be input prior to starting the vehicle) I want to know if it's worth setting up for additional security or if it's problematic. What happens if the code is ...
