Re: new tyres

I changed tyres about 4 months ago and went for the Vredesteins. I don't think there are any tyres for 20 inch alloys that are BMW * marked. I couldn't find any myself anyway.

After changing to non RFT the ride was noticeably different and the road noise was a lot less too.

Re: What CIC head units fit E70?

I did this retrofit on my X5 E70 about a couple months ago. It cost me 900 for all the parts including all the plastic trim. The unit came already coded (I had to supply my VIN to the seller) and I fitted the whole thing myself in under 4 hours including being meticulous to not damage anything and ...

Re: Trans failsafe prog and other issues

I had the same error message come on my E53 and after looking at and replacing alternator and battery, it turned out it was the throttle body. However, the only difference was that when the error message was displayed, the car would go in limp mode and needed a trans reset to get out of it.

Re: Superchips Bluefin

I had my 3.0sd remapped by Jason at BW chiptune and the transformation was phenomenal. Like mentioned above he does forum discounts for members. The differnece between a Bluefin (and other plugin chips) and a remap is that they tailor make the map bespoke to the car. Give him a ring and I am sure he ...

Re: Blacking out chrome window trim

Interested in that as well. It is the last item of chrome on my car. I am getting my interior ALU trim wrapped up in 3 weeks, I might ask the guys there if they have any ideas.

Re: Tyres.??

I just took my RFTs off, and went for the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. They were about £250 cheaper than the Michelins. It has completely transformed the ride compared to the Bridgestones I had on before.

Re: Exterior Transformation Complete

To be honest I hadn't considered doing anything to the chrome trim. As a matter of fact I wasn't even aware of shadowline. I might have to do some digging and some photoshoping to see what it would look like.

Exterior Transformation Complete

So one year after purchasing Xena, I have completed the Exterior mods I wanted to do to her. I've always wanted an all black look on her, and I couldn't be happier with how she's turned out. Before (her first wash) http://i67.tinypic.com/2qktair.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/2ufty77.jpg And after ...

Re: Aerosus air bag suspensions - any reviews?

I bought the same ones last week, and had them fitted myself. It was the first "major" mechanic job I did on a car. It was surprisingly simple and satisfying doing it yourself without having to donate a kidney to pay BMW to do it. Both of them took under two hours to do (with some swearing when the ...
