When you've got the car then caravaning does make sense.
It's a beast of a car actually. Soo much torque.
Where do you call home then? Don't know much about North Yorkshire but I want to take a trip there next year.

Re: All the warning lights - 4x4, tyre pressure, brake and abs
Good good. I've been trying to help some other people with similar issues and an E70 X5 owner had the same lights and was all down to battery voltage. Glad it's all sorted though.

[quote="Horizon"] Funny i was only thinking of your thread today as I was driving down the motorway and my dash lit up like a Christmas tree [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] I stopped for fuel and when I turned the ignition back on it all cleared. I checked the battery voltage when I ...

Re: Dash lit up.
Good good. If they fit it and find the reluctor rings to be at fault. They have to replace the sensor again and probably at no cost as it wont be your fault they didn't fully check the the reluctor ring.

Re: Dash lit up.
[quote="spartacus"] Interesting about reluctor ring. Had one break on my old Audi A4 V6 rear drive shaft. Straight forward to replace. Need a scan on the system to isolate the faulty speed sensor, and invariably will be a bu**er to remove. [/quote] Fortunately the speed sensors are a dream to ...

Good luck with both. If it turns out to be the speed sensor. get them to show you the bad one before they put another one in. If it's actually worn i.e. Something has rubbed the end away. Then replacing the sensor will not fix the issue, you'll just have another broken speed sensor. My experience is ...

Re: Dash lit up.
Nada. If you know where the pad sensor is then you'll be able to find the speed sensor. It is also called an abs sensor. The speed/abs sensor cable runs to the actual hub whereas the pad sensor runs to the calliper. The one that comes with the pads is just a pad sensor. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn ...

Re: Dash lit up.
How old is your car?
Just been through the same drama with my x3.
Do you have access do a computer and DIS software?
Likely suspects are -
- Wheel speed sensor
- Reluctor ring corrosion... which in turn breaks your speed sensor.

Re: All the warning lights - 4x4, tyre pressure, brake and abs
On some of the other threads I found, it does seem that a low voltage can also cause this issue. Hopefully it's just that.

Re: All the warning lights - 4x4, tyre pressure, brake and abs
Finally got both sides done and..... it's fixed everything!!
No lore surging. Completely gone. Must have been the slight distortion of the reluctor ring which is now all fixed. What a difference it all makes!

Re: All the warning lights - 4x4, tyre pressure, brake and abs
[quote="lezmtaylor"] Great write up, do a ''how to'' and may be mods will make it a 'sticky'. Why so much rust ? Do you live near the sea, do you get a lot of road salt in your area ? I would seriously consider getting shot of the car if mine, there are a lot of corrosion under there and lots of ...

Re: All the warning lights - 4x4, tyre pressure, brake and abs
I really hope not. Will het the indy to remove the other shaft next time as the extraction tool and puller tools are recommended here. Would buy them but they aren't cheap and i don't anticipate doing them again.
Shall i do a sticky/how to?

Re: 2.0D X3 2007 DDE fault light and limp mode
Check the thermostat. (If it never reaches exactly middle of the gauge) then your dpf will not regen.
If you say 10k on a 10 year old car, it could have a lot to do with short journeys and not getting up to temp and therefor never running the regen.
