The answer is to call bmw assist when it wont close then get a written report to hand over to main dealer. Take a photo as well.

Re: E70 quality enhancement front driveshaft ‘recall’ 2012-2014
So if the part breaks after bmw have inspected and given the all clear then surely they are liable. Or do they class it as wear and tear?

Re: Advice buying a used F15 X5
Hi
So does the F15 have a known issue over time with the transfer case. On my E70 it was replaced at 40,000miles.
On the F15 search there is a lot of choice however most main dealers have cars that are above average mileage or low miles asking silly money.
Thanks

Re: G A P insurance.???
I purchased a ALA GAP policy for my E70 and the car was stolen. They paid out the full amount so if you purchase a high value car or one on finance i would always buy it. Most bmw dealers recommend it . It is not expensive over a 4 year period.

Re: Advice buying a used F15 X5
Thanks for the feedback. I bought a 3 yr old xdrive30d from John Clark Aberdeen in 2015 with a 2 year auc warranty. The car really was not fit for auc purposes, severe corrosion under the chassis. Endless problems with air suspension , propshaft and transfer box from 40-60k miles. I will buy if a ...

Advice buying a used F15 X5
Hello everyone I am looking to buy a 2016/17 used F15. I used to have an E70 but it had a few common problems (transfer box failed , air suspension failed, propshaft snapped) . Does the F15 suffer from the same issues? I have found a xdrive40d msport 2018 with 50k miles, one year auc warranty from ...

Re: E70 quality enhancement front driveshaft ‘recall’ 2012-2014
My propshaft was inpected by bmw battersea and deemed fit for use, 3 months later it snapped ! You pay premium money for a bmw and yet quality is like something from Rover.

Re: E70 LCI STOLEN !
Thank you all. Is it fair to say that a 1990 vw golf is harder to nick than a 2012 X5? Why the f dont bmw use proper keys on these cars since they are expensive . I think tracker on my next car will be a must if i buy a german brand. I found out today that 2 Audi Q5s got stolen the night before mine ...

Re: E70 LCI STOLEN !
My car was up to date with all software. It was serviced last month at main dealer and had the security patch update last year. so if you think your E70 is secure and cant be stolen then you are wrong mine was GONE IN 60 SECONDS !!!other than steering wheel lock and cctv outside house what else can ...
