Re: How do I get x5 in neutral for recovery?
How old is the car? If it's one of the earlier ones then the battery could well be on the way out. Do you have a multimeter? I'd pop the ignition on and the headlights, then check what sort of voltage the system is showing, if it's less than about 12.5v, or begins above that ...

Re: How do I get x5 in neutral for recovery?
From my experience with the X6, mine draws 60A+ doing nothing and without the engine running. If you are doing short journeys then the battery does not recover. I have to charge mine once a month in this weather as the heated seats, lights, rear window etc etc add a lot of power ...

Re: How do I get x5 in neutral for recovery?
Hi had that fault and it was the Egr valve not related to the drive train at all but same fault displayed
Just had rac out. He said exactly the same. It had two faults. He cleared them down. Then it said it had a low battery! (Weird). So tested alternator and all fine ...

How do I get x5 in neutral for recovery?

My 50d has broken down in my driveway. It says drivetrain malfunction. It starts and then splutters after 10 or so seconds and then dies so can't believe it's the drivetrain. My question is how will the recovery truck pull it off driveway if the engine keeps stalling? Can then get it in neutral?

Re: The process has started.....

Hey mogsyman, I'm guessing you using vines gatwick? I've got two m50d both from there. I took delivery of my latest in March. You should check out the multifunction instrument display. I have one with and one without and I highly recommend it! Also check out the extended leather dashboard and doors ...

Re: Winter Wheels

If you go for the 20" rft winters you will find its more expensive than buying a set of 19" alloys from eBay and a set of vredesteins.

Re: X5 MSport 2010 Rear Camera question

It can be retrofitted with the lines, butu needs a special tool from BMW which are like rocking horse doodoo! I only know cos back in 2009 I bought a new X5 and then asked them to retrofit the camera and they had to borrow the tool as it was so expensive. So sounds to me like whoever fitted it didn ...

Re: New Wheels

If they're 333m wheels then they won't ever turn up! I got BMW to switch to 469m on our e70 which had corroded alloys as they couldn't give me a date for the 333m. It will make your e70 stand out more in a private sale too! They make the car look so much more modern.

Re: Replacement Alloys

I waited seven months and eventually told the dealer they needed to supply 468m (upgraded ones) wheels from the f15. They look better and are available. They got customer services to approve and I was on a new set within two weeks!

Re: Help - which spec ?

That age sat nav won't do full postcode. You can retrofit that though through reprogramming with a disc from bmwnavi. Do a Google search on that :)

Re: 13 Pin Towing Socket

How do I tell if my 13 pin is also wired wrong without attaching anything to it? Can you tell by looking at it?
