While changing my valley pan gasket, I had to change the hoses as well as they were perished.

Took apart again and refit inlet manifold and now all sorted. Must have been a leak on the gasket. Thank goodness it's sorted although I managed it in a morning when the first time took me all day!
Now just the front ball joints to replace!

All back together but struggling to start. Engine turns over but runs very rough and stalls. Some back firing/popping. Checked all connections are on and no pipes left off. All looks ok. Wonder if one bank is not getting a spark. I'm going to have to maybe test the loom and coils see if I can find ...

The ccv is exactly the same apart from that one corner. Mine has 2 pipes coming off and the one I got has one. I have to wait till Tuesday for correct part!

Just in the process of trying to sort out this problem. Is there any online resources for part numbers and service manual? Or where can I get them? Is it best to get parts from the dealers or is there a recommended place for oem quality replacements?

Managed to find the leak. quite a job to get to it. Question is is there anywhere to get replacement parts or best just to get them from the stealers ? Gaskets valley pan etc.Took me all morning to get to the leak. Hose to rear and possibly valley pan, although valley pan gasket is not silicone but ...

I have had my X5 E53 4.4 for a few months now. Unfortunately now got the dreaded coolant leak from the rear of the engine. So I will be asking for loads of advice ::)
