Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Cheers for that Horizon, I know Pagid quite well in that they are good quality at a reasonable price. I just hadn't realised that they were OEM. Good news in that they are substantially cheaper. £406- £145 is a no brainer really!

OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Hi folks
Just been quoted £406 to change my rear brake pads :'(
That was from BMW Peter Vardy in Edinburgh. I then got a quote of £145 from National tyres using Delphi pads, never heard of them! But a much more realistic price for what amounts to an hour's work at most ! The car is a 16 plate so ...

Re: Non Run Flat Tyres?
Many thanks for your responses, I'm pretty sceptical of the benefits of runflats tbh. Once they have had a puncture you're supposed to replace them as running them flat could cause unseen damage. I've only done 14000 miles so far so at this time don't need new tyres, but my minds made up that when I ...

Non Run Flat Tyres?
Hi Guys,
Not been on in a while as I've traded in my '57 plate X5 E70 for a 2016 X3 F25 2.0 D M sport. As the title suggests just wondering if anyone has fitted non RFT to their X3 ? Noticed that some of the handling traits displayed on my Z4 are mimicked on the X3, mainly the nervous tramlining ...

Re: Drivers side door lock fail
Just out of interest
I've had the same issue again this morning, again sub zero temperature last night. I got the garage space heater out and directed it at the door lock for 10 minutes and the issue seemed to resolve itself! ?.............at least until the next time :-[
Have read a good write up ...

Re: Dipped wing mirror
I have the very same issue, it's not a major PITA but it is a feature I found very useful to save kerbing my wheels. I have stripped the mirror apart using a "How to guide" just to see what was involved. An entire mirror replacement is exceptionally expensive, so that's a non starter :P My driver ...

My 2013 car seems to be really heavy on the wear of my 20" front tyres on the outer edge of both tyres. The rears and the inner edge of the front still has about 6mm whereas the outer shoulder is nearly bald.
The car is never driven hard and has only covered 17,000 from new ...

Re: Brake warning
Update on brake issue,
New pads purchased in readiness for them being required, on removal old pads had loads of wear left, as it was I fitted the new ones anyway! Replaced the brake sensor and got my friendly local indy garage to reset the warning and all good. This leads me to one conclusion ...

Having researched a wee bit more there is in fact 2 motors within the 1 package, each has a worm gear which drives a cog, this is an obvious wear point. I need to get a T10 torx driver ...

E70 passenger side mirror revers angle motor not working
Hi Guys
Just back from hols , car idle for 2 weeks and when reversing the passenger(Lhs) mirror has stopped auto adjusting to allow view of the kerb. The manually controlled remote adjustment still operatesfrom the door control but only inwards/outwardsplane of motion. I've stripped down the mirror ...

Brake warning
Hi guys
Somewhat perplexed I have a brake warning that is telling me to go to the dealers and get my E70 brakes checked , I've had a quick check through the spokes of the wheels and all pads have loads of life left in them. The warning is not specific enough to say if its pads or whatever or if its ...
