Re: X5 Purchased 2015 now Sold - Thanks you Xdrivers!
Well I said a sad goodbye to my trusty X5 yesterday. After two and a bit years and 44,000 miles, it was time to move on into something newer, more economical and Euro 6 compliant. I think my wife was more upset than I was in the end, but our new car certainly feels a step into a newer world (BMW F11 ...

About to Sell (probably...)
Hello fine people, After 2 and a bit years of stewardship of my 2007 3.0D SE I am looking to part ways and purchase a F11 BMW Touring. I have loved the X5 and I have thoroughly and meticulously maintained the car, whilst making various improvements along the way. The reasons for selling are simple ...

Headlight Washer Failure
Morning fine XDrivers members! I just had my X5 serviced and for part of the service I asked to have the non working headlight washers investigated. My mechanic did a diagnostic check and nothing came up. He then checked if there was an electrical signal being set to the washers and he confirmed ...

Re: Winter tyres for Hire
Hi All Firstly apologies for not responding to all your suggestions, I was rather unwell last week and was not one the web much. Many thanks for the sage advice all! I am just trying to decide if we are flying out to the Alps or driving, and if I am driving then I will be in touch with those who ...

Winter tyres for Hire
Hello all I am planning a trip to the Alps in February next year and I am likely to opt to driving rather than pay for the plan, bus ect.... I am reluctant to buy a set of winter tyres as this is very likely to be a one off event so was wondering if any of your fine members of this forum would be ...

Re: Air Con Not Working !!!
Hi MSPORTBMW, When they re-gased the system did they do a system clean and check for leaks in the condenser? If they did and there is no leak in the condenser then I am afraid it does sound likely that the compressor has gone. Did they check the actual compressor to see if it was receiving ...
Morning all Many thanks for all the replies, I'll try and answer them in order. Just to confirm the tyres are Continental Cross Contact UPH SSR (Fun flats) and are 255/50R19 V107 fronts and 285/45R19 W111 rears and BMW specific. Graeme as always well spotted I made a mistake ...

New tyres Fitted - Steering feels vague on the straight ahead.
Hello all I have had all the tyres now replaced and since this the steering has been rather vague. Last week I replaced the front tyres and the car seemed totally fine and steering as normal. Yesterday I drove the car to the tyre specialist near my offices in Guildford (an hours drive across B and A ...

Re: Avon ZX7 Tyres - Advice needed
It is worth checking the rating plate on the B-pillar as well as that lists the approved size, speed and load rating which you must not go below. As above, going higher is no problem at all. I think mine ar all 'Y' speed rated which I'll never get near!
Hi X5 Sport Thanks ...

Re: Avon ZX7 Tyres - Advice needed
Hello, There is no problem with using a higher speed-rated tyre. Mine are W rated. It's probable that more w rated tyres are made so there is a cost benefit leading to lower prices. Following the advice of others about keeping the fronts and rears as similar as possible - make, type ...
