Re: iPod lead?
Depending on the info given there was a retrofit kit for e53,46 etc that had a genuine iPod kit, when fitted if I rem correctly the kit replaces the cd changer which would indicate the fact it's removed from your car

are the bushes easy to fit?

To remove the old bushes you will need a heavy duty press to get them out, over time the grime and age build up make them hard to press out, when I did mine I used a 10ton press and I was still a struggle. Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone hire a subframe bush fitting tool
If you can get them out lube the new ones up, put a block between the subframe and body and use a transmission jack to push in. I did it on mine but to be fair I work inside the dealer network so I have the tools to hand to remove them in the first place.

Are you after a tool to purely fit the bushes or kit to remove and replace?

Re: What is this warning..?
Keep us posted on the matter. Suggest to the wife to keep the engine running if she wants to stay warm. With the battery sensors on this cars if the battery gets low it will cut out less essential items I.e heated window, heat seats etc.

I have seen this a few times at work it is normally a gear selector switch, I would agree with getting the faults checked to be safe. Hope this helps

Re: BMW Warranty
I would be careful with third party policies as they can have a maximum claim limit of £500 and will only pay a certain amount for hourly labour cost which does always cover main dealer labor charges. I see this a lot at my dealership. I hope this helps with your choice.

Re: Warped front disks...
If they were fitted at time of auc they should be covered, when you book it in at your local BMW tell them they were replaced prior to purchase and you can feel judder. Hope this helps

Re: Post Purchase Damage Discovered
I would phone and speak to the sales manager, normally the tech will report it on the odd occasion us techs can miss the odd little mark, we are human. :noexpression: or it can be a case that it was reported and not repaired. But I didn't tell you that. ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/tongue.gif)
