I fitted a GSM controller from Advent Controls.
It works really simply and is activated via a txt msg so no restriction on range.
It turns on the heater via pin 1 and when it gets warm, the car turns on the interior heater and heh presto, warm car.... ) )

Hi there,
I have enabled my Webasto via a GSM controller, so I can turn on my heater from anywhere via my mobile phone.
Its an easy soloution, and quite cheap at about £60. And maybe 15 mins to fit it.
This makes my car nice and toastie without being illegal....

Hi all, Wirral based new to X5 owner. Just picked up my first x5 today, chopped in my old ML320 for it. I am quite pleased with it so far.. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can find out what equipment should be fitted on my car?? One thing I did find is it has an Aux webasto heater that works... :D ...
