Re: 3.0d 2002. Aluminum engine protection plate / tray removal?
Hello Tim, Thank you. So remove the front plastic under tray that attaches to the bumper (fender US inclusion) AND the rear covering the gearbox? On the right UK drivers side the lower plastic cover in the wheel arch is missing. where the drive shaft comes through. I could feel the bolt head ...

3.0d 2002. Aluminum engine protection plate / tray removal?
Hello all, We have an oil leak on the X5 & I need to remove the metal, ally, engine plate. This is the one with the two plastic doors to access the sump plug & "I don't now what"?. It is held on by six 17mm headed bolts, the nuts showing underneath. I started on a couple only to find that they are ...

Re: Greetings from Chilly Shropshire & what X should we be getting please?
[quote="brewer"] Hi JM, If I were you I think I would be looking to source a facelift E53 X5 3.0D Sport. The reasons for this are as stated previously; size, stature (road presence), comfort, safety, kit, general fit & finish (including quality of materials). For your £7k you will get a far superior ...

Re: Greetings from Chilly Shropshire & what X should we be getting please?
Thank you & cheers for that Richard. When you say coding do you mean using a diagnostic device to tell the vehicle's ECU/s that it's got those bits or downloading & hacking the firmware & actually altering the firmwares binary code.? I would be up for the first but not for the latter. Although I ...

Hello Don, definitely not a Leaf & what an amazing deal. It had me wondering, it's just the range & reliable grip around here. Maybe I should forget resurrecting the Range Rover with it's V8 & LPG & convert to electric? Hmm batteries, AC motor & drive, etc. X5 or X3. Yes being at least 350Kg heavier ...

Re: White headlight bulbs
Skins,
Did you look at Richards link? : http://www.hids4u.co.uk/bmw-oem-angel-e ... 66-87.html
That seems to be exactly what you are after?
You may be able get them cheaper via Amazon or e-bay, but that will require a careful hunt I guess?

Re: White headlight bulbs
Hello skins83, I am a newbie so bear with this if you would. Do you have halogens (H7) now, or is the vehicle fitted with factory HID lamps? I believe many OEM HID's are around 4300K(Kelvin) so you should be able to obtain 5000 or 6000K replacments You do not want to go over 6000K(kelvin) lamps ...

Re: Expanding/enlarging the tank (LPG).
Hello Newbie here apologies if daft questions. On Landrover's & many others the original tank is removed a Small approx 20l or so petrol tank is installed & then the LPG tanks are fitted under-slung, where the petrol tank was. This coupled with a doughnut tank would give a capacity increase. This is ...

Hello XDrivers! I thought it polite to say hello formally here. We are NOT as yet X owners but are looking right now! This is for my wife who is currently gadding about in a 98 A4 avant 2.8 Quattro Tip with sport suspension. It has seen better days & recently got dinged rendering it effectively ...
