Ah OK I didn't realise I needed to pry it open so much as the guides I read didn't mention it. I'm far from being mechanically minded !! Thanks for the replays guys really helps. I'll try again before I send it back to the mechanic on Monday.

Hi all, I recently tried to swap my air bags over to coils on the rear of my e53 2001. I got everything fine until I needed to put the springs in. They just wouldn't fit in the gap. Hi , this is really helpful so thanks for taking time to put it together. I started this conversion but it seems my arm.doesn't drop low enough for me to get the new compressed coil in, is there something I should remove first to make the gap larger ?
