Re: Heavier oil to reduce consumption ?
all main dealers of all manufacturers get told to tell customers that their car can use a litre every thousand miles, its just an industry standard, ive worked for fiat, kia, alfa romeo, jeep, Chrysler and saab and all say the same, its due to the machene that knocks the engine components out ...

Re: Replacing pre-facelift Halogens with Angel Eyes.......
I swapped to a set of aftermarket ones and they have no electric adjusters just manual wind up ones so left my switch inside the cab non functional now, plus side they look ten times better, downside had to adjust them in my workshop and they have to stay where they are now regardless of weight ...

Re: Self leveling suspension problem
both sides have one. ive probably said it a hundred times but should have ripped the whole system out and replaced with coil springs and just delete the inactive message from the dash. much cheaper and youll never have a suspension prob again

Re: Service Costs help
well if your happy and the works been done to a good standard then that's great news. I hate other people working on my car personally as I have seen some of the work other technicians seem to think is acceptable even at main dealers when in reality is shoddy, you never know in future they may offer ...

Re: Replacing EGR valve - Tips?
only probs is with these blank kits is the egr pipe is connected to the blank off and causes a bit of back pressure and eventually blows the pipe in half. you can get a blank off to attatch to the manifold but requires about 45minutes of work to fit as you have to remove a few bolts and move the ...

Re: Service Costs help
I work for a main dealer and if we do any work not authorised by the customer without a signature its on our heads be it if they say no thanks. also its your word against his if you haven't got any job card or pre work agreement with them and believe me if it went to court you would win as like the ...

Re: BMW rear suspension change from air to coil
TBH I removed quite a bit but only because I done the integral links and rose joint bushes and all rear arms at same time, you can get them in if the whole of the rear is off the floor and yes use a lever bar or some wood to lever the arm down and compress the spring then release it when its in the ...

Re: E53 PDC's, I know I know
Same prob as me! very frustrating as it only does it every nower and then and every time it does it is when I really need them to work, i.e in a car park where theres low bollards that are in the blindspot etc. cant exactly get out and listen for the sensors when people are trying to get past, I may ...

Re: e53 d facelift : self level suspension inactive ?
defo check battery first! major cause of problems and odd errors, then if its anything to do with suspension and you only have the rear air bags id rip it all out and replace with coil spring kit for 200 pounds, end of that problem! ive done it and handles no different and will never cause me a prob ...

Re: Selflevel Susp Inact?!?!?!?
