Re: Newbie X5 40d Owner- what to look out for when collecting the car...
I have a set of 19" staggered rims shod with Pirelli winter tyres. They are pretty much a default wheel set but with winter rubber - and yes I know mine is an X6! Re: Newbie X5 40d Owner- what to look out for when collecting the car...
Well, finally collected the car yesterday, followed by a 3 hour drive home to get to grips with it and check for any issues. First impressions are very positive: car has obviously been well looked after. Bodywork and interior are in great condition for a 3 year old car. Unfortunately the 20" M Sport ...

Re: Collecting 2011 X5 today- my inspection checklist:
Car is being bought from a Volvo Franchise who took it as a part exchange, so although not BMW dealer I'm hoping they're a little more respectable than an Arthur Daley outfit.
Fingers crossed...

Collecting 2011 X5 today- my inspection checklist:
En route at the moment to inspect and collect the 2011 X5 40d MSport I've put a deposit on. 6 hour round journey so hoping all will be ok. Thanks for all the tips regarding what to look out for. I've drawn up a list of things to check before I accept the car. I've managed to pull up the build sheet ...
How come the switch? I thought Rangey was meant to be the ultimate!!
Swapped a Cayenne Turbo for the TDV8 18 months ago. Loved the Cayenne but has always wanted a Range Rover and with young kids we never really used the performance of the Cayenne. Overall was quite ...

OEM Rubber floor mats for E70?
I'm new into the X5 ownership experience: collecting a 2011 40d M Sport at the weekend after selling our Range Rover TDV8. I was pretty underwhelmed by the Range Rover, although the one fantastic feature was decent OEM rubber floor mats: good thick high quality mats with metal corners. They were ...

Re: Newbie X5 40d Owner- what to look out for when collecting the car...
Thanks for all the details guys- really useful stuff. I'd be intrigued to see the build specification of the car but have been looking through the paperwork I have up to now and don't seem to have the VIN. Is there any way of pulling the VIN off the internet from a registration? I've tried doing it ...

Re: Newbie X5 40d Owner- what to look out for when collecting the car...
Thanks for the advice. Although I've paid a deposit it is on the understanding that if the car is not in exactly the condition it has been described I can get my money back and walk away. the car is 180 miles away but I'm thinking that it's worth trekking over to collect than getting it delivered. I ...

Not so sure about economy mate, mine barely gets over 21mpg around town, having said that I floor it a lot, they are obscene for a 4x4

Compared to previous cars (Range Rover TDV8 and Cayenne Turbo) that's economy for us!

Newbie X5 40d Owner- what to look out for when collecting the car...
Hi all. Firstly thanks for providing a great resource. I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks whilst deciding on our next car. Finally decided on a 2011 X5 40d M Sport. I've found the car and now am just awaiting collection. Due to our distance from the car I've taken the plunge and bought ...
