Hello mate I feel your pain I had a dodgey gearbox that could of been caused by the wrong oil/procedure being undertaken. There is a guy at ZF that I spoke to who was very helpful his knowledge was amazing.

As said before trading standards, but before you do this email him or write a letter stating your grievances also state that you will be notifying trading standards and give him 14 days to reply, if you write a letter keep a copy,,and send it special delivery.

To be honest not had them that long but so far so good,,if they don't last I will just buy BMW ones, I know they are expensive.

I got some from car mats direct from eBay get the premium set there pretty good and fit well.

Comprehensive means that most parts are covered by the warranty, except service items, I think there are three levels of cover Mark, with yours being top of the range, I've just had a re manufactured gearbox installed under a comprehensive warranty with only the excess of £250 to pay

@celica, yes I believe it does, when my gearbox was faulty and jumped out of gear in sport mode it went to neutral,I think it's a safety feature.so I was told.

Not sure if it makes a difference but mine is a 3.0 sd so extra turbo, perhaps that could make it more expensive?

That's what mine is Mark 1260 with roadside assistance and 250 excess mileage was 65,000 when purchased, don't know if that makes any difference.

@Mark hamster28, I paid 1200 for an extended warranty and just had the gearbox replaced under that warranty so from my point of view has saved me some serious money,,but to put it up to 1500 from 1200 is a bit steep,tough decision next year for me then.

@X5Sport I can imagine an 8 speed box would be hellishly expensive,you just never know what will go bang,so I
supposed you have to cover all bases just in case.
