Sure you've probably bought your tyres by now, but I would always have the Vredesteins. I got a set last year on wheels for just over £1k and happy with them.
I also wouldn't have runflats any more, terrible, ride, noisy and frnakly, once damaged, beyound repair and more cash!

I bought a set for my E70 last year and even though we didn't get any snow, I really noticed the difference. My wife felt so much safer driving it in the cold and during unexpected periods of icy roads! Not just for snow. I dropped from 20" to 18" with same size 255/55R18 all round and just had them ...

It really does depend on the tyre and how you drive! Heavy right foot, don't go cheap, good driver, then there's lots out there that will work perfectly well.
