Should always change suspension components in pairs.

Re: Trim around windows.
Yeah I have wrapped the shadow line trim with gloss black on my e39. Quite easy, held up well, looked perfect. I'd suggest that route as its 100% reversible in case the next buyer prefers otherwise

Re: Slight ticking after oil change
I would get a scanner on it, my car made a ticking noise that turned into a knocking noise. Turned out to be a faulty injector. Car would also shudder on shutdown as you have described.

BMW Advanced Eye
Absolutely. Blackvue dr650 is 2ch, front and rear. Also has other features like being able to view the footage immediately on your phone as it has wifi capabilities. But you can do your research. At least with OEM you know 100% that it's made to work with the car. It's a nice looking bit of kit too ...

Re: BMW Advanced Eye
OEM is always a solid option. I have the blackvue dr650-Hd with MagicBox and it seems to be identical in specs. I also have a dr400 in my other car. I have used the footage to claim two not at fault accidents in the past 12 months - one was when I rear ended someone who "brake checked" me which ...

Re: Auto Boot Opening.
Read carefully. Only works with aftermarket struts as you cannot disassemble the OEM struts. If you've replaced yours then all good.

Xdrive badge on door
Yes on e53, no to accident damage, I deleted the 3.0d badge when I installed the smoked LED indicators and a small amount of clearcoat came off, so I used these to cover up. This is the OEM style e70 or badge, and given its a retrofit on an e53; not really the 'wrong' place as there is no 'right ...

Re: Xdrive badge on door
I bought the xdrive badges off ebay. Cost was so insignificant I can't remember and quality is great. 3M backing tape and they don't shift even if you hit them with the karcher.

Only issues I have had is from switching cambered rears to the front. Caused tram lining. I'm running 315s on all corners.

Re: 4.8 IS Conversion Questions
Think you're right. All the part numbers are as follows: 3.0/4.4 – Front Flares and 4.8 Style Rear Flares (NO Running Boards). NOTE: No Retrofit Kit available. You must buy all the pieces separately. Part Number ------ Description ------------------------- QTY 51 11 1 944 537 -- EXPANDING RIVET - ...

Re: EGR VALVE TIME.
^ as above not sure why you started a new thread, when you posted in the thread I put up just yesterday discussing exactly this..... ;) No advantage be gained from putting an ebay block kit in other than a whole heap of extra work to install and reverse if required. Diesels don't have throttle ...

Re: 4.8 IS Conversion Questions
Bmw call that piece the 'mudboard' FYI. Probably the cheapest part of the whole kit, only $145 from ECS TUNING.
