E70s, with halogen lighting

Both our Citroens have halogen lamps. The best money I ever spent on them was to buy Osram Nightbreaker "Laser +150%" bulbs.

Xenon headlights.

X5Sport wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 4:35 pmAs far as I’m aware, you mustn’t use ‘auto-headlights if you have adaptive units though. Something to do with the amount they move on corners being wrong for LHD.
I remember reading that ^^^ when I was researching for a roadtrip to Italy.

You have to wonder…

There seems to be a growing trend around this way for cars being brazenly driven around with no reg.plates - front or rear. I would venture to suggest they aren't taxed or insured, either. In any case, even if they are insured the insurance won't be valid due to the lack of plates.

Yet another recall campaign........

The dealership concerned didn’t happen to be Bristol Street motors or Vertu by any chance as has two similar calls after my daughters Skoda went in for routine servicing, I just avoid them at all cost now
Yes, Vertu. To be honest, I use them because they're convenient. Maybe next time I'll take it ...

Yet another recall campaign........

Well, it's been done today. Allegedly it doesn't need a new airbag. After the EGR cooler debacle (two visits, both telling me the cooler didn't need to be replaced, and then a third recall when the cooler did need to be replaced) I'm not confident.

I hadn't even got home when they 'phoned to say ...

jaynana wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2025 10:42 amI used to know Linux but long forgotten. All I know is Outlook and PowerPoint now 😆 on Mac.
I don't need either of those. My e-mail account is web-based and, being retired, I have no need of doing presentations. :)

Anyone here use Linux?

I've been using Microsoft products all my IT life - ie since about 1996. I guess I'm not the only member here who has or does.

Currently I'm still using Windoze 8.1. It does all I want, and I've got used to it. But it does have some really annoying things that I've been unable to turn off - the ...

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

I don't know if it's very much of a comparison, but I've just had the renewal for our home insurance - which is with Aviva.
It's gone up by 6% compared to last year. I'm quite happy with that - considering that inflation is running at somewhere around 3%. I know that 6% is more than 3%, but in ...

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

I have had breakdown cover with the RAC since 2000. A couple of times, at renewal, I have 'phoned them to complain about the renewal price and they have either reduced it or given me an extra 3 months free - or both. In the time I've been with them I've used their service twice (both with my old E30 ...

Seat bolster refurb..

Have got all 4 wheels fitted with sealant to self seal if I get a nail /screw in the tyre, cannot say if effective as have not picked up any punctures.
I did that once, in my winter set. It bothered me that it took 3-4 miles for the sealant that had pooled overnight in the bottom of the tyres to ...

Almost stuck in snow this morn

winters no good in garage. :driving:
Absolutely!
I don't want to come across as smug, but mine went on early in November - when it was still relatively warm and we hadn't even had one frost here. They'll stay on until sometime around the end of March.

We had 3" snow here overnight ...
