Re: BMW Scanner 1.4.0 - have I been ripped off?
what happens if you open up "my computer" then right mouse click on your cd drive icon and click "open"? You could also try clicking "start" then In the "run" or "search" box at the bottom type "command" and click enter. When the dos prompt opens type "cd d:\" (assuming your cd drive is labeled as d ...

Re: Bit of a weird one this...
That's interesting stuff. Is it only beemers that have this ability? I remember having to remove my ecu fuses in my integras after tinkering with the engine to allow them to learn. I'll definetley be performing a reset when the need arises for me to drive her x again (albeit driving solo!) I can ...

Driving style data ey. Does the data include some sort of mapping for fuel/valve timings etc? Or is it just the gearbox. I've only seen a jump like this in previous cars that I've had mapped.
Also judging by your reply I take it were going to lose this temporary smile fest?

Bit of a weird one this...
Had to get a battery today for the wife's x. Car was sat powerless for around 4 hours. New one in, fired her up and set off for a stint up the a1 and back. As usual put my foot down a bit to join the motorway and I nearly s&&& myself the car absolutely took off like a rocket. In the time we've had ...

Re: Another pdc question
Thanks for the input folks
none of this matters now unfortunately as the car is now written off, courtesy of a European lorry driver.
Thankfully the kids weren't in the car, just me. My wife insists this was an excuse to not fix the car.

Another pdc question
Hi Iv'e had a look through the forums about replacement for these and everyone's stating its a bumper off job to replace the front sensors on an x(facelift sport). Is there absolutely no chance of access through the arch liner? I've only just got the car back from repairs and really can't be arsed ...

Re: ccv help for a newb
Another quick question folks. As I am targeting the intake system I want to be sure all the muck has gone. I've been looking at products like the halfrauds intake / carb cleaner. There seems to be quite a lot of products like this on the market. The thing that concerns me is can you really spray ...

Re: ccv help for a newb
Well it didn't take too long to do the job the longest part was retrieving a lost bolt that fell down behind the brake resevoir! I removed the ccv's and the housing also the complete inlet and cleaned everything by hand with a toothbrush and some carb/intake cleaner. I also replaced the Sparks and ...

Re: ccv help for a newb
That's interesting feedback guys. I've stripped everything down today and removed the old ccv's. They are seriously sludged up and clearly the pipe work and associated holes in the intake have accumulated quite a bit of gunk. I'll post up a couple of pics when it's light tomorrow. looks likely now ...

Re: ccv help for a newb
That's great thanks for your help. I'm guessing there are two to replace then? I was also told to use an additive to help clean everything out. There seems quite a few to choose from, any experience on the better ones to use?

ccv help for a newb
Folks, iv'e been reading up some of the posts about the dreaded exhaust smoke syndrome which i seem to have developed (not me the car by the way). I'm just wondering where the best place to purchase the parts would be in your experience and i'm also a bit confused with the proper name for the part ...

Re: Should it handle like this?
Just an update the cars been up on the ramp at my Indy. Cannot see anything with large amounts of play in it suspension wise and the brakes are absolutely fine. So, next port of call is to try a different set of wheels. The tyres on the car atm all have good tread but are showing signs of perishing ...

Re: Should it handle like this?
I think a test drive is an excellent place to start. Infact there's a 55 plate 3.0d sport on 44k massively overpriced at a local garage (12750!). I may pop down and play the naive punter to grab a drive if I get time before I'm away with work.
Thanks again folks

Re: Should it handle like this?
Cheers I'll have a look at that it'll probably run fine under an xp shell on another version of windows.
