It depends on the year of the x5. The newer ones 2004 ish and newer have digital tv modules fitted. I believe it's easy to change the module....its the one on the right hand side by the battery. To be fair my Webasto hardly produces any smoke. So there maybe a problem with yours??? I would of thought that the valve you are referring to is probably the one. Are there any electrical connections going to it??? What happens if you unplug it then try starting the Webasto. Do you get same error ...
