Yup, I do it from my iPhone using BMW Remote too. Very straightforward and then appears in Messages in the car. This App is limited on the E70 as far as I can tell - I can send directions, lock / unlock and locate the car as long as you're within a mile or so. As other folks have commented elsewhere ...

It won't last.  Just proving a point to Mrs Duck given our pre-purchase discussions around buying a 40D vs something much more sensible / less thirsty.  She is completely taken with the X5 now so I can afford to be less light-footed...

Hi All, Just collected a 2013 (8k miles) 40D M Sport on Thursday. Completely thrilled with it! This is my first BMW having owned 3 Audis most recently, the latest a 2010 3.0 Allroad. Just picked a 2013 E70 40D on Thursday. The first 120 m'way miles at that speed showed 33-34mpg. We did a 20 mile local trip last night on country B roads and it reached 40 on the way there, 41 mpg on the return.
