I've got a small hole in my heated seat covering where the heating element seems to have burnt through. I believe it's a common enough occurance ... happens on that spot on the seat where you would place most of your weight when getting out of the car. The heating element still works by the way ...

2,400rpm sounds about the same as my 2001 4.4 at 70mph.
