Re: Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....

Thanks again. May go and check out the Le Mans that I listed before. I think its over priced due to being a private sale, but it has 63k on it and it only 30 miles away. All the others we have short listed are around The Smoke so we may go and look at these tomorrow. There was one listed on Gumtree ...

Re: Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....

That would be a gadget, (technically a machine but not good for anything other then play!).

back on topic....:)

When is the inspection 2 service due on these cars? And is this the "expensive" everything checked service?

Re: Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....
Hmmm, the ebay one sounds nice if description is accurate, despite high mileage. Given age of car, milage is not too bad. Very well specced, its not clear but seems as if the parking heater function of the webasto has been enabled, which is a real boon in cold weather. Seems as if ...

Re: Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....

Didnt go to Coventry in the end. Drove one near Winchester, 03 plate and an absolute dog! Cassette player instead of CD, screen for player was shot to hell, front tyres were barely legal. Steering was quite heavy, (surprisingly so), gear shifts were smooth though. Bottom line is it served a purpose ...

Re: Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....

Scrap that, found it! Anyone know what exactly breaks/becomes inoperative on the pano roof? Is it electrical or mechanical? Is it due to lack of maintenance? I have read that there are filters on the drain tubes toward the rear of the car, and that it best to remove them. No idea why you would need ...

Quite drawn to this one :- http://www.autolinkmotors.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-x5-3-0d-sport-5dr-auto-perivale-201405124148972 On the grounds that not only does it have a FSH but it also has a full VOSA MOT history as well. Having had experience of VOSA stations they ...

Looks like it'll be an X5 after all.....

So moving on from my other thread in the X3 forums, it looks like it may be an X5 after all. I just can't find an X3 within budget with the right options, ie right colour/auto/diesel/sunroof etc etc. Found a few X5's though and looks like we're out driving 4 or 5 of them tomorrow, although it looks ...

Re: Swirl Flaps done today
emmisions, low down drivability, really un noticeable however!!
So still begs the question "why?" !! If the car still goes through emissions at MOT, is still ok to drive and still returns good fuel mileage without them, why go to the expense of the R&D and manufacture to come ...

Re: X3...help!

All of those cars are at the other end of the country to me, and only one is an auto which we are after!

Im not really having difficulty finding cars per se, but I am finding it hard to find anything close.

Thanks for the post though!

Re: X3...help!

FI = Forced Induction, ie turbo! Don't get the argument for cheap tyres to be honest. They are the only point of contact that any car has with the road so why compromise? And yes there can be a huge difference between a decent tyre and a cheap ditch finder! However I do understand that there are ...

Re: X3...help!

Good information peeps, thank you.

Transmission wind up. What is it and how do I know any former owner hasnt fitted the right type of tyre? Is there any tell tails to this effect? What damage can be done to the transmission by it?

So the 3.0d are FI as well?

Re: X3...help!

All opinions greatly received! Are the early 3.0d X3's turbo'ed? Thought they were the same engine as in the X5? Care to clarify what you mean by toy? Obviously the car is a bit smaller then then X5 but I'm keen to hear all opinions from all directions....even if they are not exactly what I want to ...

Re: X3...help!

In that case I stand corrected sir! Learning curve is a little vertical at the moment I have to admit. As for getting an '07 2.0d for budget, I would be more than happy for you to point me in the direction of three or four cars my friend! :) I've been looking for about two-three weeks now and have ...
