However I fancy doing it using the BMW remote and a combination of button pushes. Anyone know of a 12v pulse or relay that gets set when you open/close the car by the remote, pref in the boot near ...

Because even though the glow plug meassured ~0.4 ohm with a multimeter, the software showed no reading for the resistance of the glow plug, i.e circuit board not reading the glow plug resistance....

starts, blows cold air through the exhaust, doesn't get hot, and shuts down. it records a 'glow-plug fault' when i check with the scanner.
but reading through many threads i know its just a generic error that BMW registers when there's no flame. so not necessarily a glow-plug issue. it could be ...

We after a lot of messing around finally got my parking heater to work again...
Changed the fuel pump, glow plug, still no joy. Turned out to be the circuit board doh.
Anyhow anyone who need to do some advanced diagnotstics I can confirm the following works, get yourself a reslers ibus interface ...

Stopped working
Hi All, after over a year of good operation no my heater has packed in.
Scanner reported a glow plug failure, so I replaced that but still no joy, but fired the unit up with fuel line disconnected and no fuel is coming through..
Hence I think it could be the fuel pump to the parking heater ...

To turn all the lights off, first hold down the internal lights button in the overhead console for about 10 secs, that disables the interior light.
For the boot lights, with the lid open I use a screwdriver to close the latch so it thinks its shut.

Apparently its a fuel filter and fuel cooler, mines 2 years older than your so maybe you don't need one!
