Re: What average mpg do you get from a diesel 3.0sd?

I've only ever measured with the onboard computer, but for what its worth mine averages 33-34 mpg with mostly motorway driving.

Re: PLEASE HELP, trying to fit e53 friendly after market tv sat nav

OK - I have done this recently albeit with a facelift version. If its the same, then the connector you are looking for is in the boot next to the battery. Basically unplug the connectors from the radio unit next to the battery (big square silver thing - will have to remove some plastic covers). For ...

Re: BMW sat nav upgrade to aftermarket research

Cheers Henry - The boot mounted nav screen looks great. Im assuming tracking and pulling out the loom for the nav was horrific? Still I may have a go though... who needs skin on their knuckles anyway! Also I considered a reversing camera as I figured that would be easier to put in at the same time ...

Re: BMW sat nav upgrade to aftermarket research

Hi Henry, thanks for the info, particularly the OBC stuff as mine is still not working (am waiting on the vendor to email me back -- I suspect the CANBUS box in mine is not working properly as I also don't have voice activated calls or siri from the steering wheel). Also I didn't consider re routing ...

Re: BMW sat nav upgrade to aftermarket research

Hi, it seems a good time for me to chime in. I had same issues as you, nav screen dying / freezing and down to the front passenger door speaker only.. I have litterally just come in from installing a Dynavin N6 and if it helps 1-Yes there is a very long pain in the arse extension to run from the ...

Re: FITTING OF AFTERMARKET STEREO ( XTRONS) 7" DISPLAY MODEL

OK, this is all at your own risk... but.. I installed an XTRONS with pop out screen in an old Shogun, and the radio reception on all bands and all stations was appalling. At the time I did some pootling around the internet and for many XTRONS there is the ISO connectors are not correct and there is ...

Re: Has anyone actually ever fixed the steering wheel judder when braking?

Cheers Smeeagain, I think you're right its a symptom of a dozen different things. But... i keep thinking if it was brake related warped disks / sticking calipers etc it wouldn't only happen at high speeds surely (in my case at least)? Im no mechanic so could easily be wrong :  anyway time ...

Re: Has anyone actually ever fixed the steering wheel judder when braking?

Cheers chaps, Ill double check to see if anything is sticking, the front brakes seem to throw a lot of dust but I dont think thats unusual in these big cars.    Rob did your sticking calipers only cause trouble at high speed?

Re: Has anyone actually ever fixed the steering wheel judder when braking?

funnily enough mines just coming up to 140K too.  Did you polybush both sets of arms and that fixed it?

I also read that cheap rotors arent great on these big machines but if it was a rotor warped or rippled surely it would be at all speeds not just from 55mph up?

Has anyone actually ever fixed the steering wheel judder when braking?

I know, I know there are thousands of pages here, Xoutpost and everywhere else on the dreaded judder when braking at speed. Trouble is no one posts that its fixed and they are all years old. Ive been experiencing on and off for about a year. I replaced front pads and rotors and it seemed to subside ...

Re: ABS valves and calliper chage

Thanks for that, good to know... although I suddenly occurs to my I've been an eejit.  I assumed the ABS valves were part of the callipers but suddenly occurred to me they are probably not.  So as long as the flexi pipes are clamped off properly it should be golden... what could possibly go wrong  :))

ABS valves and calliper chage

Hi guys. So i spent a merry afternoon loosening stuck rear caliper. Pushed in and out a few times and all seems fixed. But the caliper and the piston have seen much better days and will need replacing soon. Am I right in thinking that replacing a caliper will require the ABS valves to be cycled ...

Re: Finally got round to cleaning the side steps

It was actually pretty quick.

Wurzel - I just used original wonder wheels (not the new hot wheels one).  brushed it on, left it for a bit, scrubbed with one of those washing up sponges thats rough on the top.  repeated and rinsed ;)

Re: Impact driver

Just my input - I got the Clarke half inch chorded impact wrench. Its been awesome, since I don't use it all that often an thought a battery powered one might suffer.
